Value for money
The course layout is on the easier side. Tees were OK and greens were good. The fairway was passable. Lot of dirt and mud if you fit outside bounds. Not a hugely difficult course. The pace of play was decent. We had to wait but most of the golfers were very respectful in keeping the pace going. High value for the money. If you want a high quality golf course then this isn’t your cup of tea. This is more on economical side and thus have to keep your expectations on the lower side. Also many golfers aren’t pros. So there will be wait on most holes. But you’ll notice that most players waiting and playing are very very humble and nice people. You’ll enjoy making jokes and enjoying a good day of golf out here.
Course of last resort
I would give less than one star if I could. Yesterday’s round took a full 6 hours to play! Absolutely unacceptable. Teed off at 10:30 am and didn’t finish until 4:30 pm. Not a single Marshall on the course watching pace of play. They don’t care. They just pack people in and forget about them.
The course is in horrific shape. Dead spots on every hole. I don’t think they know they can buy grass seed. There are also just random spots of flooding and wet ground all over. It’s like pipes burst and they just leave them there to leak water.
Yesterday our group swore to never play there again unless we are completely desperate for a tee time.
Two Stars Is Being Kind!
I hate to write this but just being honest. I'm a very avid player and you name it, I've played their.... the Good, greens, course layout, and the staff... the Bad, fairways, pace of play, goose poop poop poop poop everywhere, water in numerous spots, even the fairways and traps. I honestly feel there are too many golfers being pushed out where the pace will throw off your game. If you are impatient, better pass this course up. Best bet is to probably make it a point to tee off before 8:00am... not coming back unless I'm visiting family and they want to play because they haven't played in awhile.
The course was in terrible condition
Fairways were terrible bare spots everywhere sand traps hard and un raked soggy spots all over course paths were uneven dirt paths were either muddy or had pot holes. In a nutshell worst conditions I’ve ever experienced on this course!
Over priced for conditions
Well, the chorus is in a great location and the staff is very nice, paying almost $70 for a round of golf with cart, the course should be in better condition. Greens with jacked up patches and multiple holes were they’re standing water, even standing water inside of bunkers. Better conditions would make this a destination golf course
Las Po hot day
The first thing I wanted to say is there were heat warnings the day I played. Because I had an early pm tee time, I brought 3 large thermoflasks with ice and water in them to prepare for 102F forecast. I teed off on time and saw no one except one group starting the back nine. Riding a cart as a single, things went fast, 1 hr 25 min front nine. I met the beverage cart on the 8th hole who said it was her last call so I bought a Coke just in case. The course was in good shape. I did not see any burnt or dead spots. The greens were great; dry and fast.as expected in the heat.No glaring ball marks. Front apron was wet so balls did not kick up on the greens. A couple of traps had hard crusty sand, not bad because almost every hole has a lot of reachable traps. Usually the wind picks up in the pm but not that day so I was seeking out shade to park. Back nine finished 1 hr 35 min. so just over 3 hr. Temp 103. No water left.
Course conditions have deteriorated
I used to play Las Positas regularly, but hadn't been back in a couple of years. Many of the greens were in poor shape. The apron was so thick, it was almost impossible to roll the ball onto the green with a chip.
My biggest frustration was the cost for a course in this type of condition. Disappointing.
