Disappointed for $76
They cut the grass but leave piles of grass clippings everywhere. Some right in front of the green. Sand traps are dirt and rocks. Some traps are full of water. There are lots of mud puddles too. Must have drainage problems or broken sprinklers. There were chopped up balls on a number of holes from mowing the lawn. Again, careless groundskeepers. There’s some kind of construction going on and they’re still charging full prices. Hopefully they fix it up.
You all have no idea
What is wrong with you people. You realize you are playing a municipal golf course don’t you? One not named Torrey Pines.
Bare Spots? Dead Spots? What were you looking at? I see a course that for the first 3 months of the last two years has virtually been underwater. I also see q course that onnany given Friday - Sunday probably gets 800 to 900 rounds. The greens are soft and not too fast, the weeds that you say they do not cafe about are in fact part of the habitat. If you took the time to read the signs you would know that the course is part of the autobon society and as such leaves areas untouched to provide a natural setting to tje animals that live on the course. Pace of play is slow on weekends but I have seen plenty of people playing that have no business on a bug course. If novice beginners who do not know etiquette would simply pick up and move on after reaching double par on a hole it would go quicker. The ones who say the course is in bad shape are usually the same who do not rake a bunker, fix a ball mark, fill a divot or stay on cart oaths as much as possible.
The staff there may become shirt at times but I have seen how people talk and act with them and I do not blame them.
The course is in very good shape and the staff deserves alot more credit. You could always dig deep and pay almost 200 for wente vineyards.
What is going on?
Course in terrible condition. Been playing this course since I was 15. Has a great layout and located in a great area. Restaurant on the course is fantastic. However why is the course in such bad shape. Flooded areas around the course and have not had rain for a while. Fairways with massive bare spots. Bunkers are like cement. Greens are okay. The main guy who was at the pro shop checking people in is loud and rude. Teed off a half hour late and the round took 6 hours. No starter at hole 1 and players did not know when to tee off.
Poor condition
No maintenance on any bunkers over grown weeds everywhere…rough is out of control. This used to be a pretty nice track but they are clearly not maintaining it anymore. Very disappointed
Fairways and course mostly recovered from winter rains
Some tall rough and a few fairways still recovering, but one of the best values in the Bay Area
Excellent food
Tee boxes and the high grass / second cut of rough need some attention. Greens are usually good but they were bumpy today.
Very Poor Drainage
Course was not playable and should have been closed. The drainage on this course is abysmal. We expected a cart path only day, given the recent rains. However, many of the fairways were literally a swamp. Lost several balls in the middle of the fairway. Greens were actually in very good shape.
Wait for summer
Avoid playing Los Positas until Summer Time. VERY WET AND THEY SHOULD REDUCE GREEN.FEES DUE TO COURSE CONDITIONS.
Worst Course I Ever Played
The course conditions were the worst I have ever played in 40+ years of golfing. You couldn't find your ball eben if you hit it in the fairway. That course is never maintained, We all know it rains in the winter but when there are consistently the same lakes created by poor drainage in the same locations over and over it shows a lack of professionalism by the course staff and a lack of investment in the course itself. I was ready to quit after 13 or 14 holes. The course is also overbooked with 8 minute intervals between tee times creating 5 1/2 to 6 hour rounds frequently. Unfortunately the course is close to my home and I want to play there but always seem to be dissappointed.
