FUN COURSE and not that difficult.
Lots of par 4’s! I loved it. Great views and fun holes!
Friday evening. 4-5 hours playing 9.
Loved this little course in the hills of Griffith park. Tight fairways, fairly challenging. But they play groups of 5 and everyone waits to try and drive every green, absolute snail pace. 4-5 hours to play 9 holes is ridiculous, I’ll just go play 18…
SLOW
Well over a 3hr round. Lots of 5somes in front of us. Same story last time played here. I had hoped that was the exception. I still love the course, but I won’t play on a weekend any time soon.
One dangerous hole. Had to wait 30 minutes at this hole too.
Rude Players
The people we were paired up with added an extra person without paying, came in slippers, smoked on the green, peed in the brushes, used profanity often, rehit their shots over and over again without consideration for the people behind them.
Beautiful 9 hole course located under the observatory with beautiful views of DTLA. Most fairways are wide enough for the average player to let it rip. It can be easy to lose your ball on a few of these holes because they are wrapped around the trees and the pin isn’t always visible. Pace of play was whatever we felt like. No pressure from the group behind and never found ourselves running into the group in front. Only had to wait for the group ahead of us once on one of the par 3s but it wasn’t for more than 5 minutes. Greens were in good condition and fairways were maintained well also.
Lots of negative reviews on here about pace of place but honestly it is a course full of hills and the older crowd might be on the slower side but hey, slow down and enjoy where you are because it is beautiful. I’ll be back for sure
Great 9-hole executive, I played well!
TLDR: tight but great layouts, wet in the morning, lots of elevation and fun-challenging putts.
I arrived close to my tee time, 7am for a 7:10am start--my bad! Traffic can build up on the way there. It is Los Angeles. It was still dewey, wet, while it rained a lot 3 days before this round. Practice greens were closed--too wet--and tee boxes were mainly not used--again, too wet. The hole layouts, somewhat tight, were fun and lots of elevation change! 2nd hole you tee off hitting uphill, 6th hole approach is downhill to the green. I kept the driver (~260yd club) in the bag except for 2 holes. Greens are decent size, very good conditions, roll well, and breaks are challenging. The starter made us a group of 5, but we still played quickly, and rarely waited on the 3-some ahead of us after the 1st hole. LONG REVIEW, thanks for reading!
