People are great
The peeps that work at the course are wonderful people always happy to see a person walk In, always treats everyone like family
Keep up the great work people the only down fall is some times the course gets backed up a little but don’t all courses haha thanks guys
Nice and coolI
I had booked a round with a cart but the course is an easy walk. Every time I play I team up with very nice and interesting people and today was no exception. The course is a little shorter than most courses so is perfect for golfers who are not long hitters. When I left the course at noon it was 65 degrees and when I got to Gilroy it was 90 degrees so it was very enjoyable golfing weather. I always enjoy playing Monterey Pines and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Nice 5.5 mile walk.
Crew and course solid. 4 hour round. Some challenging pin placements near edges of green over sand traps. Bring your 60 degree!

The course was in great shape, was a fun course, the pace of play was good, had some wind, but nice & sunny.

Great Value
It's a great wee course and superb value. It's the kind of course where all levels of golfer can score: make pars and even birdies. It does get busy so we played the back 9 first to keep things moving. Why do golfers take so long!

Best VALUE on the Monterey Peninsula
There are many great courses in Monterey but none offers better value than Monterey Pines. Few tourists will discover this gem. It doesn’t have the panache or the views but the course is in fantastic shape. The greens are as good as any of the top courses. A lovely walk and very reasonably priced if you’re on a budget. A local treasure.

Short, fun course
Looking for an economical round during US Open Week on the Monterey Peninsula, I found a GolfNow slot here for $60. Played 18 holes in 3 hours, as the course plays only 5500 yards from the blues. Greens were very hard but running medium fast. Fairways were in great shape, bunkers had good quality sand, and tee boxes were level.
All in all, this course is a great bargain stop in the area!!

Great ground keeping
A fairly easy course that is very well kept.
Friendly staff on check in, but sourpusses run the food/liquor concession.

Hidden Gem in Monterey!
The description, “Hidden Gem” gets overused a lot, but Monterey Pines really deserves this label! My buddy and I are caddies and Player Assistants at a US Open course in WA; we’re down here to work at the Open at Pebble, and have been looking for golf deals. Most courses have doubled or tripled their greens fees this week, but not this place. (It’s a military-owned facility, but it’s open to the public.) VERY reasonable rates via GolfNow. Friendly, competent staff. The course itself is very well-maintained, though there were 10-15 unrepaired pitch marks on almost every green. (That’s on you, fellow players!). Greens were lightning-fast, but no unfair pin positions. Pace of play was also lightning fast; finished 18 in just under 3 hours!
My favorite aspect of Monterey Pines? It’s their fluffy white sand bunkers! They are a delight to play from, rewarding good technique even from tricky lies.
Lunch counter is also a net positive; good food, fast service, reasonable prices.
BOTTOM LINE: If I lived here, I would play Monterey Pines on a weekly basis.

Good overall course
The course is maintained well. The greens were recently punched having slight impact. Although showers were in the forecast, we had very little rain and the sun came out during the latter part of the round. No one in front or behind us made for a very enjoyable pace.
