Monterey Pines Golf Club

I have played this course a few times already and really enjoyed it. This was actually the course I played my very first game on. The pace is OK. Every time I play here, I find myself waiting for the group in front at almost every hole. More than most courses I've played. If your with a good group of guys like me, you pass the wait time pretty quickly. Great balance of easy par 3s and long range, out-of-sight par 5s that I love. Still have not ate here so can't comment on food. But the staff is nice and course is pretty well maintained.

Everything went smooth from start to finish of our time there. Greens were good and some holes were narrow. All in all had a good time with my partner and enjoyed the course.

Great course with fast greens. You must be aware of your speed around the greens and when landing on the greens.

It is a great place to play golf. Easy to walk and the challenges are there but they are not overwheling.

I haven't played in 6 months due to an injury and was ready to see if I could play. For $6., (twilight walking rate) I figured it would be the same fee to hit a bucket of balls so why not?! Enjoyed the overall conditions, particularly the greens which were rolling nicely. Best deal anywhere!

Feeling bad about your game? Play here. Kept in good shape year round. Not particularly difficult, but fun. As it should be.

Enjoyable course in the heart of Monterey. Good for all aspects of the average golfer's game. Weather was great and the course wad in good good condition. The greens tempt one to utter expletives on occasions. Overall great fun

This course is a great value. The main down fall for this course is that it's right next to the airport and RV park for the fairgrounds. The greens were in good shape which is always a good thing.

Are you kidding me? This is a great rather-level course. (I could easily see myself walking from time to time). The layout is nice. The greens were pretty challenging. The fairways were well groomed. The price was very affordable and who could ever complain about the Monterey Bay weather? Paradise.

I have a good feeling this will be included into our weekly course rotation. Can't wait to get back.

I play this course often and it is absolutely one of the best golf deals on the Monterey Peninsula. The course is fun, well-maintained and challenging. The staff is always friendly......

This course is in the best condition in the area (not counting the Pebble courses). It plays very short but will still challenges any level player. The greens were recently completely redone so they roll very nice. Because of how ridiculously cheap you can get on, it gets a lot of play so don't be surprised if you get stuck behind some slow play.

If your looking for a cheap, quick round or looking to boost your confidence, I highly recommend this place.

P.S. They have amazing breakfast burritos!

The pro shop is staffed with welcoming people.
The carts are equipped to measure distances.
The course is in good condition considering the
very serious water shortage that the area is dealing with so expect significant fairway browning. A significant amount of the course is either bordered by the Fair Grounds or the Monterey Airport but neither
has even been a nuisance other than the occasional jet that comes screaming over head.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this
course to anyone except the snobs that look for
big name courses with high daily fees.

This is a well balanced course with a little bit of everything. While on the shorter side as far as distances, it's still a challenge! The pace of play has always been fantastic; numerous sub four hour rounds. My usual foursome car-pools it for the 75 mile trip down there, and they're are no complaints as it's well worth the trip. It's visually very pleasing. I highly recommend this course.

It was very cheap on twilight and walk condition.
It is convenient to access from Monterey town and airport.

A fun course to play. Offers the golfer to use a variety of clubs. The drought is beginning to have a negative effect on some of the fairways.

The fairways have really gotten in bad shape. Many bare spots and seems like a lack of watering. Pile of dirt on #2 just dumped there. Better fairways would make for better playing.

Love this course, great area, always in Good shape, greens roll true. We play here at least once or twice a month & we live an hour away.

I was surprised at how uncrowded the course was on a beautiful, sunny Saturday. My golfing partner and I went out as a twosome with a single behind us. We did not have anyone in front of us as far as I could see.

If you ever played the Navy course in Monterey, you will know that it is now called Monterey Pines. The course was remodeled a few years ago and, in my opinion, flows a lot better and is more enjoyable than before.

All in all it is a great value in Monterey. I'm surprised there were not more golfers out there.

We were pleasantly surprised with how nice this course was. We'd played another course close to Monterey Pines that was much more costly and not near as nice. We played quickly and had a great time and would recommend this course for all levels of golfers.
