Nice course
Got paired with ice people which is a great start. Course was in good condition. Pace of play for about 12 holes was excellent but then I don’t know what happened. No Marshall’s out there. Would play it again
Great shape
The course is in great shape, greens rolling well, sand seems new although a bit wet but still great nonetheless. Fairways in great shape. One of my favorite courses to walk in the Monterey area.
I liked the course, it was in good shape and the people were very nice. But the pace of play was SO SLOW. There were people out there with little kids who would swing three times before they hit the ball 10 feet, and a couple of older ladies who walked so slow, and stopped and talked to each other before even getting to their drives.
The marshal finally showed up and moved both groups along, and it got better. And both groups quit after nine holes (thankfully).
It's a great and convenient course in good condition with golf for a reasonable price, and I will play there again. But the pace of play was too slow. Luckily that's the easiest part to fix!
Great course, beautiful setting, fantastic maintenance!
We absolutely loved this course! Beautiful setting, very well maintained, enjoyed the jets flying above, friendly staff, great location!
We’ll definitely return to your amazing, fun course!
Thank you for a fantastic day of golf👍

Great Value
Friendly staff. Tees, fairways, greens above average condition. Highly recommend Monterey Pines GC!
Great Shape
We have played here for years, and the grass is in great shape. Could use a marshall to keep pace of play up, but other than that great day!
Fast greens, great weather
The greens were very fast and true with a little sand left on them. I played the sliver tees, and it was more challenging than I expected from a 117 slope. You can’t beat the weather there. Will definitely be back.
Good value in Monterey
The Monterey Pines Golf Course is not an overly challenging course, but the greens and fairways are in good shape, and it makes for an enjoyable round. You can always play the back tees to make this a bit more challenging. For the average golfer - this is a very nice course - playable, affordable, and in good condition.
Hidden Gem
I’ve golfed at Monterey Pines many times through the years, before and after the remodel. (I went to the nearby Naval Postgraduate School and married a gal from Pacific Grove.) MP was in better condition than Del Monte and much better than Pacific Grove. The fairways, greens, and tee boxes were in superb condition. The carts had GPS(!). There was staff all over the course conducting maintenance. The clubhouse restaurant was simple but very nice and in good condition. So nice to see it being kept up to high standards.
Great Course, Great Staff
Had heard good things about this course but was very impressed myself. Greens were fair and quick, course is in great shape!
Mark in pro shop was awesome and gave great tips about the greens prior to round.
Tom (head groundskeeper) was very nice as well.
Will def become a regular course I will play in Monterey.
Great Experience
Course in great condition, drinks cart came around multiple times.
Very slow pace for the front 9. Started keeps the course full.
First time playing this course and it’s in excellent shape. Grass was beautiful on the fairways, rough, and greens. Good course for beginners. Most of the holes are straightforward. The greens are fast and a bit tricky.
Pace of play was bad. We played in the afternoon and were told we were following a tournament. Ended up starting 30 mins after our tee time. 4-5 groups backed up on the first tee. The course conditions would still bring me back.
