Copper Canyon Golf Club - Mountain/Vista Course
About
The course at Copper Canyon Golf Club is deceptively exclusive in that although the club has prestige and a luxurious atmosphere, there are some reasonably priced tee times. The layout features an interesting mix of holes that offer panoramic views of the White Tank Mountains to the south. The large, undulating greens that are framed by generous fairways are the trademark of the course. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and there are also sand bunkers situated throughout. This golf course offers four sets of teeboxes. Copper Canyon Golf Club has extensive practice facilities for golfers to use as well, including a full length driving range with several target greens, a large practice putting green, and a short game area with a bunker.

Coppers a Whopper
First thing you notice is a complete practice area. Big putting green, nice chipping area and large driving range.
Expansive Fairways, somewhat undulating on certain holes. Greens are in great shape and roll true. Approach shots are easy to difficult depending on pin position. On the day I played, most pins were tucked to the right or left side of the green behind bunkers.
The course can play as long as 6800 yds. down to 5851 yds. for men, so is playable for all handicap ranges. Bunkers are excellent.
Super greens
Course has some of best greens in the valley. Very good turf conditions and pace of play was great for a holiday. Just wish this course was closer to Mesa.
Worth The Drive
We play here at least once a week and enjoy it every time. The drive from the freeways is a little longer than most are willing to make, but the course is always in great shape. Plenty of space for warm up balls on the range. The only issue we have is when they get busy. The starters/marshals easily lose track of groups, and get behind schedule quickly. But once you get to the first tee box it is always worth the wait.
Worth the drive
I play this course every summer when I can afford the green fee. :-) Always a fun track and this summer, the course is in very good condition, especially the greens. Played the copper/silver combo tees (approx. 6100 yards) and the course very forgiving at that distance. Landing areas off the tees are generous, greens are soft and receptive, bunkers in good shape, lots of cold drinking water around the course. Will be back again next summer.
What a gem
I was really impressed with the course. The conditions were great for golf in August in Arizona. The greens are smooth and the layout was fun and challenging. It is a little bit of a drive to get to but definitely worth it. The course is not like the other retirement courses in the area. I look forward to playing it again. It's a need to play!
Best so far this summer
We venture outside the walls of Sun City West for cheap play around the valley. The transition was hardly noticed here. Bent grass greens were stellar and quick.
Impressed with the course overall.
A pleasure
The course was in very good condition and the greens were as good as any in Phoenix during the summer. They were well groomed, smooth and receptive.
EXCELLENT GREENS GREAT SHAPE
Well worth the drive, incredible shape great greens. Very consistent rolled true and held every approach shot, just wish the course wasn't so far away. Great deal for the money, with the conditions they could easily charge more, but because it is well over an hour drive away from the city.
Summer round
First impression upon arrival was poor. The supposed bag drop attendant on duty was not to be seen. However the rest of the day was very good. Practice facility is better than most. Amply sized practice putting green, driving range, and the chipping and sand trap practice area helped greatly after having not played for some time. Greens were smooth and fairly fast. Fairways were middling as the grass was burn away in a lot of areas. Overall it was great value for the money and i'll definitely return.
Beautiful course
This place is definitely the hidden treasure of Buckeye! Only down fall a couple fairways were a little rough, other than that just perfect!
Love the Greens!
Cooper Canyon is my favorite course in the west valley. I would normally give the course all 5 stars but the fairways were dried out in quite a few places and this made for some extremely tight lies. The greens were in excellent condition as always. We played on a day when the wind was blowing 15-25 miles an hours so the course was a bit more challenging than usual, but it was fair. If you have never played CC, now is a time to do so.
Great morning of golf!!
We were the first tee time out at 6:30 on Thursday 7/9/15. The staff was great as well as the range and putting green. We were playing as a 2 some and finished the first 18 in under 3 hours. Because of the all you can play special we were able to play 27 holes before 11 A.M. I have played a wide variety of courses the last couple of months all around the valley and Copper Canyon was in the best shape overall of any of the previous courses played this summer.
Yes, it is one heck of a drive but well worth it in my opinion. The course is in great shape, the staff is awesome, and the facilities are top notch. I will definitely be back.
Greens were near perfect. Bunkers need work; inconsistent.
I would not be discouraged from playing this course again solely based on inconsistent bunkers and fairways needing water to bring back grass.
Nice variety of holes, will use all of your clubs.
Great course design. Greens were immaculate on the day we played. Wide fairways but lots of trouble if you miss them and end up in the desert.
Great staff....fabulous greens!
Fairways awful (summer) , greens fantastic! Staff courteous and friendly.
Fantastic Greens
If you enjoy putting you'll enjoy this course. The greens were in excellent condition and fast. Unfortunately the same can't be said about the fairways, they were brown and dry. Still in all a very nice course.
Great course
It was over 100 degrees so pace of play was not an issue! Wide fairways, what you see is normally what you get (a couple holes have water you can't see on tee). Greens are excellent - roll exceptionally well. Weather has taken a toll on fairways but still a beautiful layout. Fun to play.
This is a must play
If you would like a great golf outing you must play Copper Canyon. The course was in excellent condition. The staff was very helpful.
course beautiful but greens were not
I've always loved this course but this time we did not enjoy it, we were paired with another couple, but before tee off we were told we were a twosome, that couple teed off ahead of us and held us up for 9 holes very rude, course was very spongy, greens were fast but very bumpy and soft, cups were a mess edges all rounded over, overall playing time was within reason, but we would have finished a half an hour earlier except for the couple ahead
