Newport Beach Golf Course

A friend and I enjoy the golf course but the only thing was that he had his grandson with him and he had to pay for him. He had no clubs and no intentions of playing. The boy was just hanging out with his grandfather. He should not have been charged.

Booked on Golfnow, Did not know that it was only for 9 holes. Thought it was a good deal. Had a 6:40 am tee time. Got to course and asked if we could pay the same price that we booked on golfnow for 9 more holes. Were told no, so we paid the regural price for 18 holes. $25 bucks. My fault for not paying better attention to fine print.

We've noticed every time playing work is constantly being done to improve the course. WELL DONE!

Wide open course. Perfect for beginners. Wish there were more tee boxes off of grass rather than mats. Easy to walk course. No one mentioned there was no hole 17 prior to playing. So we got skimped a hole. Pace was slow but mainly because a lot of beginners or people that want to just have a fun time out book at that course, which I had no problem with.

Newport Beach Golf Course is a decent yardage 18 hole executive course that could use a little love in some areas. It allows you to go through your bag and use just about every club. Some of the tee boxes are really beat to crap and even some of the mats are worn to thes rubber. Most holes offer the option of using mats or tee's. That being said, "I love it"! And yes I'd tell people to play here. The guys in the check in booth are all great guys and they have a cool little bar and earing area as well as a full Pro Shop with EVERYTHING told need to play.

I love playing this course. During the summer time this is my usual practice course during the week to help get the yips out before playing a big course. A nice 3 par course that is easy to get on even without a tee time perfect for beginners or people just wanting to get their short play down. There are 5 par 4 holes that let you pull out some of the bigger clubs. The staff is always nice and they even let dogs on the course and have been great when my cousin bring his dog. The pizza restaurant is perfect for after a round to unwind and have a cold drink and some food before heading out.

Really enjoyed myself today. Driving range is excellent but it can be hard to track ball because of fake grass. One good aspect is there are several yardage markers which is better for determining hit length for different clubs. Many driving ranges only have limited markers. Everyone I met including club pro, starter office staff, greens crew, bar/food staff and other players we ran into were nice, having a good time and helpful. You can play off well-worn mats or tee off on grass areas. Great for new and learning players - minimal amount of hazards with wide variety of hole lengths. Fairways were spotty, normal this time of year and at this price but greens were excellent.

Fun little executive course. Great staff. They were helpful and courteous. Greens were in great shape. Fun to have the par 4's but it does slow play since everyone "thinks" they can make it. Most of their tee boxes were mats. One tee box was a piece of plywood and a mat, not the best look. The grass tee boxes they did have open were in great shape. Will play again to see how much better the greens can/will get.

I am really disappointed at unfriendly staffs. It seemed like that the man at the pro shop did not want to accept customers and the woman at the grill was so unfriendly. It was so terrible experience to play golf at this course.

Dirt everywhere. Terrible tee boxes. Slow pace of play. Get more bang for your buck at Costa Mesa country club, los Lagos or mesa linda down the street. You’ll probably pay almost the same price depending on the time of day. Newport needs a lot of work.

I played at 8:20 am and man was i surprised when i rolled up. There is no tee boxes on the course, there are these word down, beat and hard driving range mats. The fairways needs some major work, there is a ton of dirt. The greens were not bad, they were pretty slow though. For $35 with the cart, I will never be coming back here again. The pictures looked really good on the website, but man were they not the same in person. There is also advertising all over the course, at every tee box there is a probably like 6 ads of random company's and realtors. I would assume it would bring a good sum of money in and they could fix the course and put in real tee boxes lol.

For the amount of money they are getting for a round and the number of folks they accommodate on any given day, there should certainly be enough in the budget to fix this course. The fairways are a mess! Come on management, step up to the plate and make our hometown course worth being proud of!
