Newport Beach Golf Course
Fun little executive course. Great staff. They were helpful and courteous. Greens were in great shape. Fun to have the par 4's but it does slow play since everyone "thinks" they can make it. Most of their tee boxes were mats. One tee box was a piece of plywood and a mat, not the best look. The grass tee boxes they did have open were in great shape. Will play again to see how much better the greens can/will get.
Unfriendly Staffs
I am really disappointed at unfriendly staffs. It seemed like that the man at the pro shop did not want to accept customers and the woman at the grill was so unfriendly. It was so terrible experience to play golf at this course.
Too expensive for what is is
Dirt everywhere. Terrible tee boxes. Slow pace of play. Get more bang for your buck at Costa Mesa country club, los Lagos or mesa linda down the street. You’ll probably pay almost the same price depending on the time of day. Newport needs a lot of work.

Not a good course whatsoever
I played at 8:20 am and man was i surprised when i rolled up. There is no tee boxes on the course, there are these word down, beat and hard driving range mats. The fairways needs some major work, there is a ton of dirt. The greens were not bad, they were pretty slow though. For $35 with the cart, I will never be coming back here again. The pictures looked really good on the website, but man were they not the same in person. There is also advertising all over the course, at every tee box there is a probably like 6 ads of random company's and realtors. I would assume it would bring a good sum of money in and they could fix the course and put in real tee boxes lol.

They really need to put some time & energy into repairs
For the amount of money they are getting for a round and the number of folks they accommodate on any given day, there should certainly be enough in the budget to fix this course. The fairways are a mess! Come on management, step up to the plate and make our hometown course worth being proud of!

People playing only 9 holes are given priority to tee off on the 10th hole. If you are playing 18 holes you are last in line for tee off on the 10th hole. Sometimes it gets so bad when you're playing 18 holes so you just leave, even when you've paid to play 18 holes.

Grow some grass
I didn’t expect much to begin with but the course conditions were definitely a disappointment. Don’t expect anything other than an opportunity to get in some practice. We were behind a group of 5 which slowed things down a little but that wasn’t really an issue. The employee telling us not to take a mulligan because they need our cart as soon as possible was the odd part. What difference does it make if we are waiting on a group of 5 to finish on every shot? All the tee boxes are practice mats on a concrete slab. Is it that hard to grow grass in Newport Beach?
Golf attire is definitely not mandatory here so feel free to wear jeans , T-shirts, and sweatpants without getting any grief from the staff.

Good pace fairways need help
The greens were good, the pace was great, but someone needs to add grass to the fairways. It’s a great course to work on your short game and therefore I would definitely return.

Undergoing renovations
(Played back 9 only) Be aware that the course is undergoing renovations so holes 11, 15, and 18 have large sections of dirt. As long as you aren’t short, it won’t be a problem. Greens are in great shape, other than the occasional ball marks left from golfers who don’t repair them.
