Newport Beach Golf Course

Honestly I was expecting a lot more out of this course seeing it was in Newport Beach. What brought down expectations was the green fee. $30 on a Saturday..that's great anywhere! Sometimes you get what you pay for and I would say you get alot of bang for the buck for this executive course. Range was kept up, Staff was friendly. Just a heads up when I played there. They had hitting mats in the tee boxes! The plus is, guys won't hit it fat. Well for the most part. Fairways and greens were good. Not a lot of dead grass. Rough was nothing penalizing (mats on tee boxes not so difficult rough = great pace of play. Which with the amount of people on the course and most were walking..went pretty quickly. Also they run out of carts and push carts fast. Real fast..I forgot at these "great value" courses. You get the folks that well..are not to acquainted with golf etiquette. That pretty much think this is a course where you can act like want. We were a foursome..being held back by the twoesome in front of us ..getting hassled by the twesome behind us..Talking loud on greens..yelling from each other on the fairway...It's whatever. If it was a nicer course, I probably would've said something..at the very least to the marshall (which I think they did not have one). But big fairways on the par 4's. Easy par 3's. The back nine is harder if there is a word for that on this course. A lot more wide open. Greens varied in speed. which was annoying. but again, 30 bucks is 30 bucks. The staff were pretty nice, very accommodating. The course gets very busy..I had a tee time at 10..and the place was packed. I'll play again, cause thought it wasn't great..it wasn't bad..at all You can shoot a pretty good score which is good. Off topic, do yourself a favor, buy a pullcart..if you play enough..The pull cart fees add up..really fast..I think the guys that sold the $80 tiny bottle of hand sanitizer are now selling the push carts at crazy high prices...hope the golf gods make you pay. I got lucky, I found some guy that was tired of walking sell me an awesome Sun Mountain for $80..and I'm talking the nice ones, the ones you see being sold used at $250. Anyways..hope this helps..it's a feel good course..you almost have to try to shoot a really bad score.

Not enough drive carts to accommodate golfers. That should be indicated in reservation information. Four holes were being completely torn up, .... again nothing indicated in course information. No signage at holes indicating "hold under repair", ... hit from designated drop area. You hit off mats at many homes, but no rubber tees provided. This was just an awful round. A lot would have to change for me to even consider ever playing there again. I DON'T CARE WHAT THE ZIP CODE IS!!!

We enjoyed the course, good chance to work on short game. The course was a little rough around the edges but the greens were in excellent shape. 18 holes for$25.00 on a beautiful day, it’s all good.

The mornings are a great time to play here. The pace is perfect as there isn’t much backup. Course conditions are always suspect here but I will say, they are managing the greens very well. Most other areas are not managed very well though.

This is a short course with a lot of very short holes but always makes for a quick round of golf at a reasonable rate.

So, yes, I do recommend playing here if you just want to get in a few hours of golf with very little difficulty.

This course is not in great shape, but for the ,money, it's a good value. Also the course is easy to walk.The course is a par 3. good to wok on your short game. The putting ares is the nicest part of the course unfortunately the sign says "No Chipping Onto the Greens". most people apparently don't read English. It would be nice to have a choice of hitting mats and regular grass for tee'offs.

Greens are in good shape, but golfers do not fix ball marks on greens. Repaired three or four marks per green during play. Course now requires holding onto drivers license and credit card if you rent a cart. They claim because of damage to a cart or two. New policy... id theft possibility is increased.... only course that I've played recently with this policy.... they collect phone numbers and I hope have insurance...., but.... bad policy unless they bond their employees. Teens on course lack any guidance.... five some created problems on back nine. I suggest playing elsewhere for a better golf experience... sorry Newport Golf course.... Baker in Fountain is a much better course for the money.

Once again I have nothing but great things to say about this course. Great shape fast greens and friendly staff. Will play here many more times.

We had a tee time of 7:40 Saturday. It’s an executive course so we knew we’d be working on our irons. I’m not a big fan of teeing off on a Matt for each hikes first shot. Front 9 too is about 90 min.

My issue with the course if they way overbooked/ let too many people on. Our back 9 took about 3 hours! They implement a rule where 9 hole groups start on the back sucking the life out of your pace. Very clogged up, we made friends with the 3 groups behind us. Waiting to tee off.

I would compare this to Lake Forrest, basically a training course for your irons. Don’t expect to get done in a timely manner.

The course is nice, I did enjoy the holes and semi variety of the layout.

I brought my wife here as a surprise. We have 3 boys under the age of 7, two of which are twins. Anyhow I surprised my wife with a 10:30am tee time today at your golf course only to find out that your facility was out of golf carts, and your tee’s were all under construction having us tee off from cracked, old, beat up, recycled turf. Absolutely ridiculous. The pace of play was slower than a darn dessert tortoise so I’m assuming they are over booking. Today’s surprise to my wife was ruined, we should have stayed home and enjoyed quiet time as we wasted not only valuable time together but money on this course. The website needs upgrading as the best thing about this experience was the pro shop. “Thanks guys for the shoes for my wife she loved them. “!

This is a nice mostly par 3 course. While it may be small and little rough around the edges, what with having range mats in the tee boxes, they definitely make up for it with price and using the most out of the limited space to make a fairly challenging course. Along with a decent driving range and well stocked pro shop and snack bar, this place gives every bang for your buck. Highly recommended for beginners, seniors, and people on a budget.

Great little track to introduce golf to someone or just get out an walk a quick 9 on this we’ll-located Executive Course. Very friendly staff, easy rates. Easy to get on.

The layout was great: 2 holes right by the starter, then across the street to 4 holes then back across the street to 3 more then into a tunnel to ten then across a bridge to 11-12 and back across the bridge to 13-18. Nothing near 400 yards. Mostly par 3’s a few short part 4’s and a couple of longer par 4’s, if you play from the blues. A little over 3 hours for 18. Nice friendly staff and clientele. A twosome waved me into their group-nice guys: Scott and Jeff.
