New greens, fringe, driving range and mats
This course in in great shape and just a lot of fun to play. Great for all skill levels.
Great course for the money
I've enjoyed playing here the two times that I have. Great value!
Average course
Hidden within Irvine, this executive course is fun to play. I finished within 2.5 hours. It has few hazards so no need to worry about looking for your lost ball in the bushes. John Wayne airport is right there, so planes are constantly taking off, after a while you don't hear the loud engines anymore. It's worth playing once. Maybe with a group of friends and some drinks, it would be a nice 3-4 hour break.
Short executive - Pretty decent for price and location
Played here on a Sunday morning before my flight out. Didn't have too much time so thought I check it out. Got the round for free using my reward points and Hot Deal time. I paid $10 for a cart when I arrived. The course if very walkable and I was the only one using a cart. I got the cart cause I didn't want to be too tired for my flight in the afternoon.
For the price and location (Right behind John Wayne Airport), it's a great deal. It took me less than 3 hours to finish.
The course conditions weren't bad and it's a very easy course to play. Hence there were a lot of beginners and a few hackers. I wouldn't mind playing this course on a weekend for $20 (with cart) anytime.
Good Par 3 Course
The course was in good condition, you hit off a mat that has a place for you to use a tee so that was nice. The driving carts are brand new and super comfy and come with a ton of cup holders/accessory holders. The other golfers on the course we're very relaxed and nice so even though there were a couple behind us we never felt rushed even though we offered to let them pass us. We had a great time!
Major Upgrades
It's been awhile since we have played here and we were surprised by all the upgrades that have been made. We started at the driving range that has all new mats and beautiful turf on the range. After getting a few practice hits in we teed off. We don't get the chance to play that often so it was great that there was no one in front or behind us. All of the tee boxes have been redone and the greens were great. We really enjoyed our time on the course.
not a bad little course
Buckers need some work and to much watering. I do lile to work on my short game good place to get in some practic
A Walk in the park
This Saturday I woke up with nothing to do. You see ,basketball season ended baseball games were been suspended for spring break , and the kids were at a paintball party. So I look for courses That I could go to. To work on my short game. fortunately for me and Newport was close by. I was matched up with the father and his two children preparing for tournament very friendly people. After a few holes I decided to hang back to play with a Twosome and give the father and his kids some freedom. I saw that the course was open after six and decided to skip over to seven and play the rest of the 18 by myself. I had a great day. I saw variety of different groups . Mixed individuals, couples both old and young. families of all backgrounds and ages whom all appeared to be having a relaxing peaceful day On the links . So the next time I'm out with my buddies and I'm looking to have a nice relaxing round i'll be sure to go back to Newport. Don't forget the party at the barbecue at the 19th hole . Good times with good people.
No driving range for two months
Played the 6 am burner special, which included a bucket of balls. However the range is going through renovation for two month, which means no balls. The course was in good condition, fairly easy, as it is primarily par threes. Good for a quick swing of your clubs, but don't expect to hit many of your clubs, as the course is set to challenge your wedges. I have to reiterate the you hit off mats. Quick round of 18 (2 1/2 hrs.). Got out late because starter was late for the 6am start time, and sprinklers were still on on holes 1 & 2 when I played. However, it was an enjoyable experience.
Good Course to start playing
This course if the first one I ever played at and it is just that. It us perfect course to learn how to play the sport since it has mats to tee off, it only has 5 par 4's and the rest are all par 3's. It's a fun little course to do all 18 holes and you should no problem walking all 18 of them. The greens and fairways are always nice and well maintained. They also have lights for those late evening games. Prices aren't too high and you can always get good deals through Golfnow.
Green condition excellent
Green condition great , layout ok , good for short game practice, the only think I don't like the tee box . Hitting using a mats
Not a good course unless u can't get on anywhere else
Very disappointed in this course. First off every hole u tee off of a mat and you can't use a tee on those. The greens were nice and fairways not bad. No carts so u must walk the course.
Good for beginners
It was a fun course. I just don't like that there were
No tee boxes and you had to hit off mats.
Good place for a quick round of golf.
Maintenance was being performed on the greens. Putting was difficult. I was aware of this before playing. Played back nine in 45 minutes.
Nice course
Had a great time. Definitely going to do it again.
I like the way it was setup it was nice.
Good value and very interesting 18 hole layout.
After hitting a small bucket on their practice range we headed off on the first tee.
The course was well maintained with mature trees and the greens were very nice and true.
We liked that even though this was an executive course we had several opportunities to hit our driver off of the tee on the par fours.
We appreciated that this course has 18 different holes and even though we were in Newport Beach we had some interesting elevation changes during the round.
We also enjoyed watching the jets from John Wayne Airport take off directly overhead.
Short course, good for practice but needs maintenance
It was a quick round, mostly par 3s. Good value for money but the course is not in prime condition and needs work.
Service Charged me to Death
I booked on Golf Now and was charged a fee...this I understand knowing very well I was using a service, but when I arrived at the course, the starter said that the green fee on the site was the wrong green fee and needed to charge me $4.00 more since it was a holiday. I hemmed and hawed a bit, paid with my Visa and I was slapped with another 'service charge'...WOW! My 1st time to the course and this is how I was welcomed. It will be my last time.
I might of considered coming back, but the putting greens were extremely slow (3 on the Stimpmeter, maybe).
Ok place for beginners
Good place for beginners. You must tee off from mats that's a downside.
