Situated within the Oakland Hills, Lake Chabot Golf Course offers stunning views that stretch across Oakland, Bay Bridge, and the Lake Chabot area. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1932. Slight changes have been made over the years to improve the layout but it has always maintained its playability. The terrain is hilly, which makes flat lies hard to find. Accuracy and precise shot placement will get you far. The stretch of holes from the 15th to the finish has the best scenery on the golf course. From the risk-reward 15th hole, you can see all the way to San Francisco. The unique final hole is a par 6 that plays to a whopping 673 yards from the back tees. It's a straight, downhill hole with a memorable view.

Chabot golf course
Course layout is great. Fairways and greens are maintained well. Fun course to play.
Not bad - interesting
You have to play this course once. The price is what will keep us coming back despite an hour away. Interesting course layout. Just watch out for cars crossing and adjacent players playing the opposite way. We almost got struck by a man errant golf shot.
Fun Layout w/ decent conditions
This was my first time playing Lake Chabot and I’m impressed. I’ll definitely play it again. It’s a fun layout with multiple elevation changes throughout. A few of the holes also have views of the SF Bay.
Greens rolled smooth at a medium pace. Greens are small and single tiered with modest back to front slope.
Fairways had better coverage than expected. Fairly green and lush throughout with only an occasional thin area. Most fairways are wide enough to grip it and rip it. However a handful are tight
The entrance road to the parking lot crosses through 6 fairways so be careful when entering and mindful of cars when playing. Especially during a busy weekend
The par 6 hole plays extremely downhill and really is just a par 5. Overall it was a fun experience and I’ll play here again for sure
Golf & Carlotta
Always our favorite part is seeing Carlotta at the snack shack She is the best!’n
Why didn't we play this course until the past 2 years?? So glad we play here now, it's our favorite local course. Love the terrain and the challenge. Looks short on paper, but even the reds play at least 6000 yards due to the hills! Staff is cordial; golf club is very well managed! We have been very impressed!
First time
This course was awesome! We can’t wait to golf here again. The views were beautiful.
The only negative thing to say about this place is the lack of customer service when checking in. She was very rude and not a good way to tee off.
We encountered many staff members throughout and everyone else was very nice and friendly.
Interesting course, but not well maintained.
It is a very unique course with significant elevation changes in most of the holes. It is interesting and fun experience playing here. It’d have been much better if the course were maintained better. At the top there is the view of San Francisco and Oakland cities too. It is a course that you definitely want to be at least once, but hardly more often if the conditions stay like today.
Longest round of golf ever
Zero Marshall or staff presence to speed up pace of play
Longest round I have ever played 5 hrs 45 minutes
And thought Tilden park was slow
Worst course in the bay for the money
Absolutely horrible, I can’t believe this course can get even above 50 bucks for a tee time. 100% the worst course for the money in the Bay Area. Just got play Corica for the same and have a great round or honestly any other course. Total cow pasture and needs to be replaced with housing
