Corica Park - South Course

I have played this course many times, I usually shy away from getting a tee time after 10 am because they like to try and pack the course and it eventually bogs down on the back. I had to settle for a last minute at 11. True to form, we played the front in 2:14, then the almost 3 hours on the back. The marshal just drove around. Doesn't say anything to slow groups to speed them up. Doesn't make people skip a hole.

Course was very dry and had a lot of burnt/brown areas. Greens were really nice and roll well.

1st time playing and had a great time. Lots of bunkers but once I figured it out, was all good. Greens are quick but not super fast and have some sneaky rolls.

Played the front in 2hr but things came to a screeching halt on #11. Took 2:45 for the back 9. There was a Marshall out there but didn’t do very much.

Great driving range w top tracer.

First time here and loved it. Luckily I played w a local and he gave me all the tips. Was in a bunker for the first 3 holes but figured it out after that.

Greens were fast but not us open fast. Just right

Had a 2 hr front 9 but a 2:45 back. There was a Marshall but didn’t look like he did much.

F&B was great and fast.

Will definitely come back

If you haven’t played Corica South, it’s definitely worth trying. Many challenging unique holes await. Although good scoring requires good shots, the course is not punishing.

Another reason to visit is their restaurant and bar. Their food is not cheap but they do it right! I had the Chili Verde Omelette, and it was really tasty. Portions were big, too. Well worth the price.

24 beers on tap were there as advertised at the door to the restaurant. Saw 6 I liked, but had to settle for 2, next time :))

Service was consistently good to excellent from checking in to paying the restaurant bill and everyone in between was friendly and courteous. Overall, it was a great experience!

Corica is well maintained and has 3 courses to play on. Challenging enough for low handicappers and still good for beginners. Nice practice area as well.

Course was in great shape Fairways a little dry in some areas but greens excellent and true !

1st time playing Corica South. Great course, challenging with all the bunkers, great staff. I would play here again and also try the North.

This was my first time playing Corica South Shore. Conditions were great, staff were very friendly. Would definitely play here again. Maybe try the North Shore next time.

If you're teeing it up here, stretch first—you might be training for speed golf.

Our foursome finished in 3 hours and 45 minutes, yet the marshall asked us to pick up the pace...twice.

The first visit came as we walked off the 7th green. We were about 90 minutes into the round and heading to the 8th tee, on pace to finish the front nine in under two hours. I asked, "How much faster should we play?" He didn't answer—he simply sped away, which, to be fair, was very on-brand.

The second visit came on the 15th hole as we approached the green. We were told we were "backing people up." There wasn't a group in front of us all day. I guess we could have started our round 20 minutes earlier but kept to our tee time since there wasn't a starter available that morning. The threesome behind us only had to wait occasionally when one of us donated a golf ball to the rough.

I'm usually a pretty fast player, but even our group felt like we were trying to beat a shot clock. If you normally expect a relaxed 3½- to 4-hour round, you may want to bring your running shoes.

For reference, we teed off at 8:30 AM on a Thursday, not at dawn during a PGA Tour pace-of-play test.

So, consider this a friendly heads-up: if you play here, be prepared to finish in well under four hours—or you may receive a motivational visit from the marshal reminding you that apparently 3:45 is the new slow.

Overall was a great course.! Greens in good shape on the south side. Def Scoreable when staying out of the bunkers. But that’s expected from links style .

I’m a high handicapper now. I have played both the done north and south.

I think that the south is generally more fair for a high handicap and I enjoyed it thoroughly

Whereas the north is definitely a little bit more difficult for me and every time I come back, there’s something new

Bravo, Chuck Corica course

The Australian sandbelt design is so much fun. Big mounds all around the green can be used to bring your shots closer to the hole, but failing to execute can leave truly challenging shots.

Compared to many courses in the city that can be much muddier and damp, I love how the ball rolls out here on your tee shots.

Be careful on your tee shots on holes 13-15, if the wind is blowing as it can send balls too far left and OB.
