Lake Chabot Golf Course - Executive Par 3 Course
About
Lake Chabot Golf Course overlooks Oakland and the Bay Bridge from its lush rolling hills. There are two courses available, one full-length championship layout and a nine-hole, par-3 course. The longer golf course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1932. It is known for having one of area's most memorable finishing holes, a par 6 that stretches to 673 yards from the back tees. Lake Chabot's short course provides the same risk-reward style of the original course but on a smaller scale. This par-3 course is also not as difficult, making it a great option for juniors and families, and it is also the perfect spot for beginners to get in some good practice. The views on the Lake Chabot short course are just as stunning as on the long course.

Not so Great
This course, with only nine holes, is generally just okay. The layout is inconvenient, and the overall course conditions are pretty bad. The greens are rough, the tee boxes are made of dirt or hitting mats, and the upkeep is lousy. Ironically, the best holes were the first and ninth. I got really frustrated by the hilly terrain. Walking my cart was a pain in the butt, and the pace of play was also not great. I felt rushed while trying to figure out my shot with a group behind me. I wouldn’t play nine holes here again. Hopefully, the 18-hole course is better.
Fun to practice
Very hilly
Greens could be better
Only bunker on #8 is in bad condition
Good place to practice irons
Lots of elevation changes
This course was great to play with my 11 year old. It doubles as a disc golf course but the pace of play is about the same. Definitely a good value.
Lake Chabot Executive 9 hole
I played the course a year ago and it was not in good shape. Overgrown and not mowed enough. This year it was well maintained and enjoyable to play.
A lot fun
This course Will test your accuracy under 100 yards it’s straight forward and fun. Hole 3 is my favorite.
Avoid - It's Terrible
The 18 hole course was reasonably well maintained. But the 9 hole exeucitve course was in terrible shape, a piece of junk really.
Course
The 9 hole course is for short game players only. The boxes had no grass and had range turfs as substitutes. I can recommend this place for anyone except just beginners wanting to challenge they’re short game. I only went here once and that will be my last.
Thank you
Terrible conditions - only good for children
Executive course is poorly maintained, barely playable. It would be ok for a group of children just beginning to play.
