Par 70
Length 5727 yards
Slope 113
Rating 67.9

Originally designed by Chandler Egan in 1932, the first nince holes takes you through the forested areas of Pacific Grove. Egan's nine takes you through an inland terrain and reflects much of the charm of an English rural course done in the old style.

The back nine was designed by Jack Neville, the original designer of the Pebble Beach Links. It opened in 1960, and is laid out in true links design over dunesland that approaches the sea.

Over looking the course is the Point Pinos Lighthouse. Built in 1855, it is the longest continuously operating lighthouse in California. It is a historical sentinel and picturesque landmark of the golf course.

A scenic tour of the dramatic coastline provides views of Lover's Point, Point Pinos, Crespi Pond and the natural dunesland at Asilomar. You will be enchanted by the abundance of natural wonders such as the plentiful Pacific Blacktail Deer, seals, sea lions, sea otters, pelicans and gulls.

It's all about the back 9

PG is a real fun GC one of the exceptional muni courses on the Monterey Bay. The back 9 which circles around the light house is out standing, our day of golf was blessed with 80 degree weather. we'll be back soon.

Great course with fun challenging holes

PG Golf Links is a Monterey Peninsula Gem. Ocean views, well kept greens and fair but challenging holes makes this course a destination for all handicaps. You also find lots of wild life all around the course making the experience quite unique.

Great course! Play it!

I played in September 2014. Course is beautiful. The front is a more traditional lay-out, but still challenging and beautiful. The back is a links-style course with most holes having fabulous views of the ocean. If you are in the area, you want to lay this course. Can't get a better value for the money!!

Scenic and Challenging

The Pacific Grove Links course is beautiful with oceans views and deer roaming the course which is challenging but has some easy holes. We ate in the restaurant and the special of the day was wonderful. Recommended the pasta alfredo with chicken with some fresh vegetables. The staff in the pro shop were friendly and courteous. Look forward to returning! Our weather was in the low 70s, but it can get chilly and windy there. Bring a sweater or wind breaker, just in case you need it. Enjoy!

Awesome Value. Views Great

From before we arrived to the course we had a good experience. We were coming from Irvine and got in quite a bit earlier than our tee time. I called over to the pro shop and talked to Mary who was more than happy to get us out earlier. We teed off 50 minutes earlier than our tee time. The staff were so friendly and the gentleman in the pro shop gave my 10 year old two gifts: a logo ball before we played and then after our round, the gentleman asked what Sean shot. He shot a great round 104 and the gentleman ( I am sorry I don't have his name) gave him a sleeve of balls. Now to the course. Amazing views. A little tight on the from and watch out for houses and the back nine----WOW spectacular views. Looked like Pebble but 90% less costly. The greens were in great shape and the bunkers were very well cared for. I will certainly play this course again anytime I am near Monterey for more than 24 hours!!! Thank you agin for a great experience

A must play course...

This is a must play course. I lived in Monterey for many years and never grew tired of the course. The staff is friendly and the facilities are remarkable. Not your typical "muni-course". Treat yourself a wonderful experience.

Back 9 is very scenic

The course was in good condition. Only problem were the green we're VERY bumpy!! For once the weather was perfect and light to moderate winds. A very enjoyable round of golf!

A true golf treasure

I have played this course often and this year the conditions, particularly the greens, were the best in many years. Some parts of the course, the driving range especially, still need some work, but that does not detract from the enjoyment. Don't let the shortish yardage fool you. The wind and terrain and slope of the greens defend par very well. The back nine is just like a trip to Ireland.

WOW!!!

Pacific Grove was my 223rd different golf course played & was by far the best bang for my buck EVER! Friendly staff, perfect greens & course conditions, & the views on the entire back 9 are incredible. When in Monterey checking Pebble Beach & Spyglass off your golf bucket list, be sure to check out this track. I will definitely be back!!!

Great views, great play

The views alone are worth the price to play. The staff was extremely friendly and gave my wife and I an additional discount on an already low priced pair of new golf shoes. We were booked for the earl wise twilight tee time and since we showed up a little early they started us at an even earlier time. I can't wait to play this course again and again!!

Pebble beach Junior!

This course is the best little gem in the 17 mile drive area. The back nine is the reason why. Built like in 1924. A few holes
on the back is within 100 yards of the Pacific Ocean! We got lucky and had a 73 degree sunny day with light breeze. It can be 60's and very windy. Play here and tell your friends!
