Great experience
We had a great round on s cloudy Friday afternoon. sun came our after 3pm. Aerated greens a little challenging but we were forewarned. More than a few tee boxes were in need of mowing by altogether it was a great time for the $ spent.
Get there early! Windy afternoons!
I've golfed here a couple times a year for many years now. It's like the course and condition they keep it in. The Marshal that was there yesterday was awesome unlike some of the courses you might run into. I don't golf here as much as I'd like to because it's pricy without a hotdeal. I believe the owners control Windsor and Adobe as well which are pricy but nice courses.
The primary problem I have with this course is the pace of play. Lots of slow walkers which ultimately make the rounds take around 5 hours on the slower days. I've only been here once when I made it through in 4 hours or less in the last few years. This wasn't the courses fault really, it's just a packed course on weekdays and weekends. Even when it's windy with 30+ mph winds.
Good time
4:20 pace of play, course was in pretty good shape, nice day
Best in Petaluma
There were a couple of rough spots on the course desk what looked like goose damage but for this time of year I can't complain. They punched their greens early so they are recovered when all the other local courses are starting to punch. It's the best track in Petaluma as far as I am concerned.
Enjoyable; a little slow
Course is in good shape. They have had some kind of animal digging up the fairway on almost every hole but it didn't really interfere with play.
greens were in great shape, pace was a little slow and I didn't see a marshall at all.
This course was in great shape.
It was our first time at Rooster Run and we followed a tournament. Had the course practically to ourselves which was great. Even though several had played in front of us, the conditions were very good. Greens were challenging and water was at several holes. We will definitely go back!
A Course of Excellent Condition
I had a wonderful round. It was the best I ever had. I know I, and my friend, will play there again.
Beautiful course
The course was in very good condition, the greens were very challenging. The only negative comment I would have would be that they need to let people know when they are going to pack tournaments in. It took us 6 3/4 hours to play 18, it was very slow! The course itself was in great condition.
Amazing course
If you are in the area, and you have time to get a round in, this should be a top course on list. My only gripe was the set of rental clubs I had to use. My clubs were getting new shafts since one broke so I had to rent a set. The price was $25 for a very used set of PowerBuilt clubs. Fortunately I brought my driver and putter with me. I would recommend the course offering a better set of rentals and upping the price to $30 or $35.
Fun test of Pasture Pool
Played mid afternoon @ 2:30. Started on the back 9 with a consistent one club wind. Played our 18 holes in 3 hours, 40 minutes. The Roster Run course has nice lush fairways, firm fast greens and was a joy to play there.
The only issue I saw was need for better sand in bunkers.
I will recommend this course to family and friends alike.
Good luck and hit them straight
Great time at Rooster Run
First time playing at Rooster Run. Drove an hour to play here and was not disappointed. Great layout, very well kept, and pace of play was great. Our foursome finished 18 in 4 hours on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. I will play this course again soon.
Good Track
Nice course conditions. Drought does not seem to be an issue. Pace of play was fine. NO restaurant. The airplanes taking off right next door are kind of cool at first but then it gets to be a little much. Overall a decent course but get a deal.
Manicured In The Midst Of A Drought!
First time playing this course. It was exceptionally green and manicured and shows no signs that a drought is all around. Layout was challenging if you don't know the course and the late afternoon wind added a bit more challenge. Greens rolled true. Facilities were nice, staff was friendly and the carts were new(er). Planes taking off and landing nearby was more of a spectacle than a distraction. All four of us were impressed and will return regularly.
FUN !! FUN!! FUN!!
There is absolutely, no trouble on this course.....It's just that wide open. Links style, without rolling fairways. There are several water hazards, that really doesn't come into play. The biggest challenge for this course is the wind.....The layout, is right next to a small airport, which needs wind to lift planes, With that said, I wish there were more Westerly wind holes, than Easterly. My best advice would be: "Select the right tee box on a windy day, even if you are a scratch golfer, you'll much better enjoy playing from the WHITE tees.
Rooster Run
We had a great time at Rooster Run although it was extremely HOT and no winds (for a change). We always enjoy playing there!
GREAT MISTAKE
Although RR was not the course I thought I had booked (I intended to play Adobe Creek) I was very pleased with RR. Although the greens had been recently punched, they rolled relatively true and not exceptionally slow.
I would definitely play the course again.
Nice course but slow
Course was in excellent shape unfortunately it was also extremely crowded. We were constantly backed up 2-3 deep on the tee's. At least 4 players ahead of us quit after the turn because it was so slow. On a weekend I probably would have been more tolerant but mid day midweek this was unacceptable in my book.
Hard to say if we'll go back or not. The course was fun but it took us over 5 hrs to play 18.
Good Value for the Money
The fairways and greens were in good shape. Pin placements were somewhat challenging on many holes. Weather was more overcast than expected, but it is February.
Overall it was a very nice experience.
