Diamond Oaks Municipal Golf Course

There is NO reason the fairways should be that bad. there was No grass, so if you had it in the fairways, you couldn't find any grass. The rough was patchy. But the weather was perfect, and my wife works weekdays. It was slow, but we had fun.

If u wanna play a 6 hour round then get on in there to diamond oaks.

Had a great 9 holes.

Overall, the course is pretty nice. Good challenge and layout. Greens are in pretty good conditions, but the fairways are pretty rough.

Old fashioned layout with mature trees. Greens were manicured and the ball rolled consistently. Bunkers not bad. Fairways are terrible! I’ve never played here before so I don’t know if they are dormant and perhaps nice in the summer? But they aren’t mowing the fairways(no need to) so I don’t understand why the tee boxes were like playing in 4” rough. 10th tee box seemed to be the only one that was recently mowed.

One good thing I will say, great hot dog! And the staff we encountered were nice.

This could be an area gem with the right maintenance.

The staff was friendly. Driving range nice. Course was interesting.

In the Spring, you wouldn't expect dirt patches in so many fairways. The grass was THIN and bare on so many holes. Not a pleasant round.

The main thing that was bothersome during our round yesterday is that it was so backed up. At almost every hole we had to wait 10-15 min to tee off. The fairway was a lot of dirt, not much grass to hit from. Staff was nice and the layout was great, just a little disappointed in the price for our experience.

Its winter time of course... I didn't expect the course to be in great shape. The greens were pretty good, but the Tee Boxes were not mowed and the different grasses in the fairways made for poor lies. Some standing water from some recent rain. Wait till late spring or early summer, and it should improve.

The fairways were about 50% mud. We had to play lift clean and place. Every shot resulted in a mud ball.

This course does not drain well. To be fair, it had just rained the night before I played but there was standing water everywhere and mud up close to the greens. The greens were not well maintained. Some of them were fast and some of them were really slow. Lots of holes and bumps in them as well. As the title of my review states, I really need to try this place again in the summer to get a better feel of what its usually like.
