People were friendly. Greens were in good shape. Fairways were good.
We enjoyed great pace of play. The course was not crowded due to the heat being near 100. Diamond Oaks is one of our local favorites.
I liked the course. Friendly staff, greens were well maintained. I will golf here soon.
I liked the course. It was well maintained. The front 9 was rather slow, no golf marshall to help speed groups up. The back nine was awesome because there was no back up at any of the holes. I will play here again.
This course is good for moderate ability and value priced
Municipal course - in decent condition and good value.
long time muni
great course for those who walk. some gentle elevation
changes to provide a challenge. lots of birds, especially
geese and some new egrets to see. some traps and trees
for those who stray. a great way to start a day is a fast
18 at diamond oaks.
Good Course
I've played this course regularly for over a year now. It is in good condition and the staff are very helpful.
Stay Clam at All Times
Fairway second cut is way to long and wet. You can't find the balls just feet from the first cut. This slows play and kills the score card.
Also the maintence crew needs to shut down mowers while the players play, if within 50 yards of the player. At leat stop moving and power down. Makes it tuff to focus, just ask Tiger!
Diamond Oaks is just right for bogie golfers
I have recently taken up the game of golf. Diamond Oaks affords me to play from the rough rather than take a drop because of a lost ball. I find myself playing a lot more often in my own fairway these days. The staff has always been friendly.
Good bargain, needs a marshall
This course is a mature course and is in generally very good condition. My only concern was that they have no marshalls. We had an issue with a single jumping ahead of us on the last hole as it was getting dark and we ended up playing in with him but at first he was very beligerant saying he had to wait for us. He calmed down. Marshalls are a good thing for pace of play and player safety,
Fairways in good shape, greens ran true with nice speed, water stations were clean & cold, and speed of play was very comfortable.
Diamond is in great shape for an older course that's had it's troubles in the past. Everything is very green for the start of Summer. Nice comfortable, straight forward, course lacking all the "quirkyness" of the newer "designer courses".
A place to feel Welcome
I haven't played golf in california for 15 years. After moving back , I did not know what to expect from a golf course like this. However, I was pleasantly suprised. The course plays fair. The greens were tough for me to read. Most everything looked like it was breaking once or twice. Most puts should have been straight. But this did not bother me. The staff made you feel like you were coming home. They asked about my tee time, they even fixed a golf club for me for free. I am from TN , and in no way would anyone in TN do that! It definately made me happy. Good course + good people= fun golf.
Great bang for your buck!
I was in town to visit a friend and I'm glad I played this course!
Excellent Greens and Fairways!
The course was very well maintained. I booked a tee time on father's day and was expecting the course to be extremely busy with a lot of hurry up and wait golf, but when we arrived we were able to tee off before our scheduled tee time and never had to wait except for a short time on the 10th tee. I was extremely pleased with how well the greens were kept! By far the best I've played on since I moved to the area 4 months ago. Looking forward to playing here again.
Well Maintained Course
Hard to believe you are in the middle of a city. Very quiet. The staff kept everyone moving and we finished in around 4 and 1/2 hours which isn't bad for a Sunday.
Course is fairly forgiving to the average golfer.
The course is older but well maintained and clean. The staff were friendly. It is a good course for the beginner to average golfer with big greens that are not too difficult. It suits my level of play and makes for an enjoyable round.
Nice muni in decent condition.
Nice muni in decent condition. Back nine is a little boring. Great course to walk.
Beverage Cart Stress
I had a good time up until the 14th tee when the beverage cart girl came around. Although I was kind of glad that she did come around, I did not appreciate her needing to take my credit card all the way to the restaurant to charge me for a drink. Why not have an iPhone with the square credit card swiper on it, to make it more convenient for the customer? I gave her the benefit of the doubt not to commit credit card fraud but who knows in today's society. I ended up getting my card back from her at the end of my round on the 18th green. She got it back to me as soon as she could. I am sure that she was just doing what she normally does, which is trying to sell snacks. I think that she was new and was trying to do her job well. She was cute and attentive in asking our group if we were well hydrated. It was also my issue that I was stressed out by her having my card. It was not her problem that I was worried about it. Like I said before, she was probably just doing what she was told to do.
Not bad for a Muni
First time I've ever played the course. GPS in the carts, which was nice, but several times I was sitting on the 150 marker and the GPS was off by more than 6-7 yards. I didn't know which to follow...the course markers or the GPS. Lots of trees, although several big oaks had been cut down, according to my playing partner, and a little water here and there to keep things interesting. The greens were REALLY slow and some of them looked like the surface of the moon...pockmarked beyond belief. That being said, the deal I got through GolfNow made it totally worth it (even got a small warmup bucket as part of the price.) I'll definitely be back, but I hope folks learn how to repair ball marks between now and then.
diamond oaks is playing great
great pace in the the middle of the day , heat is a fast golfers friend . course is in great shape , rough is mowed , greens are tight and as fast as they get , here .
Diamond Oaks
The course is a good one ..... But be careful, the staff on this day was arrogant, rude, and not helpful. If you want to play in Roseville, there are plenty of good courses in the area.
3 hour round
Had a great time at Diamond Oaks. They are celebrating their 50th year in 2013. Beautiful day and the round took a little over three hours. Our 4some played pretty quickly but didn't need to as we were only caught up to by the group behind us on the 17th hole. Some trees are being pruned or cut down on a couple of homes but it was not an inconvenience. Greens were in great shape but some of the tee boxes were a little shabby. Overall a great course that does not have a whole lot of trouble if you are not hitting the ball straight. Great golfnow value.
