The Club at Crazy Horse Ranch
About
The Club at Crazy Horse Ranch (previously known as Salinas Golf & Country Club) in Monterey boasts a reputation as "the friendliest club in the area." Opened in 1925, it's also known as one of the area's oldest clubs though they are loathe to label themselves as "traditional". The golf course sprawls across rolling countryside dotted with mature trees and the occasional water hazard. Originally opened as a nine-hole layout, the golf course may appear somewhat short at just over 6,200 yards from the back tees but don't underestimate its level of difficulty. It's a tight layout that demands accuracy, especially when navigating the small greens. There is plenty of variety at The Club at Crazy Horse Ranch, you may even find yourself using all the clubs in your bag. The golf course finishes with a stunning view of Salinas Valley from an elevated tee. The fairway slopes downhill to a well protected green guarded on the left with trees and on the right with bunkers.

Fun course
Interesting and yet fun layout. Greens in awesome shape with quick speed. If I lived closer, I would consider a membership.
Highly recommended for a fun and relaxing day.
Excellent track
This course is a hidden gem of a track. Off the beaten path - but well worth it. Course knowledge is very helpful if you want to score well...I’ll be back.
Love this Facility
Go play Crazy Horse!! This place is great, it has tiny greens, stiff drinks, and LOOOONG par 3’s. Golf shop staff are friendly and helpful. Even the maintenance staff will wave and nod as if they saw the birdie putt you just made. I’ve played here maybe 15 times since the new owners took over, and it’s a treat when public tee times are available. One more gem on the Monterey Peninsula.
Crazy fun at Crazy Horse
Super fun day at Crazy Horse, greens were excellent, fast, but putted true and a very interesting layout. Great food at their restaurant too!
Overall the best!
We couldn’t find one fault with this beautiful golf course today. The fairways are in great shape as well as the greens and tee boxes! Pace of play was spot on also. Best of all is the friendly staff that are so welcoming!!
This course is an old gem
Take your driver out of the bag and enjoy!! The holes are fairly short even from the blues. You will need to place the ball in the right spots off the tee to maximize scoring opportunities The greens are in great shape. It doesn’t fit my eye and I still like to play CRAZY HORSE!
Perfect weather for a nice play
Always a fun to play Crazy Horse Golf as it's a nice course. The pace of play always good for us to complete the round in 4 hrs.
Would play again, however...
Course in good condition, decent layout, greens in very good shape and rolled very well. The rental clubs left a lot to be desired, they were not clean ( at least not the iron faces, clubs were same brand (Strata) but shafts did not all have the same flex. Maybe I should not expect much for $30 rentals. I would play again if I had my own clubs.
Challenging but fair
Fun course. Forces you to hit certain shots off the tee. Greens were in great shape. Great value, I will play it again
A Must Play Course
Great course with great views. Fairways and
Greens are what you expect at a Country
Club. Challenging holes throughout. It's a
must play when in Monterey Bay area.
It OK.
Some pretty interesting holes. Some, not so much. it's definitely worth another go round. Course knowledge is a necessity and a course map would be a good thing to have in the cart.
Pristine
You couldn’t ask for a more perfect round of golf! The staff is always friendly and very accommodating. The fairways, tee boxes and greens are pristine for this time of year and the amount of play they get. I highly recommend this course!
