Sweet little course. Well worth it
tecolote golf with golf pass
With Golf
Pass it is the best deal out there. I play with cart anywhere from 15 to 18. tHE COURSE IS A great challenge. narrow fairways (lost 5 balls) to learn as a person like me. Again for my money it fits great. I'm a 25 over but in my mind I can get to a 12 to 15 with this practice here.
Course
understanding springtime golf where course is not perfect but, the maintenance of the course on 4/5/25 was subpar. The pace time was also not acceptable. Understanding this course is for all levels, there should be a pace of play. I was not able to finish the 18 holes due to a group ahead by two holes that were doing two or three shoots off the tee box and multiple shots after their tee shot.
I have been coming to Tecolote for a few years. I do not live in San Diego but I was raised here. It is somewhat disappointing that this is “how it is now”. My thoughts, my opinion.
I will return to play. On average 7 or time a year.
Decent for the price
Fun, short course. Didn't like that you have to pay full price for an extra rider considering most people walk this course and the tee times seem to be relaxed.
Grass off fairway
I consider myself a below average player and for that reason I was not happy with the tall weeds and grass off the fairways. for that reason I think I lost about 7 balls. Other than that it was enjoyable.
Course needs work
Shabby uneven tee boxes.
Fairways were mostly weeds and dirt.
The greens however were pretty nice
fairly quick and challenging.
I paid holiday rate , not worth it, if ever play there again will have to be at s discount.
Staff is very friendly.
Don’t Bother
Staff was rude and unwelcoming. Marshall kept driving by but not helping with the pace of play. Seemed like only locals were welcomed. Pace of play was a snails crawl. Easy walk and greens weren’t too bad.
2 hour round
Booked a hot deal at 2:50. Played in 2 hours. Never waited on any tee. Greens rolled fast. Tee boxes a little barren. Awesome course!
Can’t bring a 5 year old to learn the game
White kid at the counter was rude and said 5 year old can’t go in course yet their strollers on the course daily. I don’t understand how that works. Must be based of favoritism or privilege. I’ll be sure to spread the word about how douche he was about a kid coming to play the game.
Tecolote Canyon Golf
This place has truly turned into a goat track. It has the feel, like many San Diego courses, rhah the owners are not putting money into the cpurse because they intend to close it to build houses.
On the bright side, the greens were ok, but tee to green is terrible.

For. Insurance cover minors are not allowed on any course if they are under seven. Try taking your child on any other course. Even the development course has a minimum age of 7 Colina golf course. I have never had a bad experience at Tecolote except when I am playing a bad round.
