Unpolished gem
Beautiful views of SanFrancisco a area, but course Lhasa been poorly cared for. There is of course the drought which has certainly taken its toll, holes aren't well marked and the carts are in disrepair.all that being said, I would recommend it
Horrible course condition
No grass on entire 18th hole. Every other hole only had spots of green grass. Greens were not taken care of. Pace was very slow. The very old carts were not reliable and cost 26 just to ride. More than what I paid in green fees.
not my dream course.
This was not my favorite course. First of all, it was in TERRIBLE condition. The greens were super slow and super bumpy. The other problem is that you don't know which hole is which. I ended up just finding a random hole and playing. Definitely not a good course.
Watch out for the hidden fees
Booked on GolfNow 4 players, $30 each. We got there and the clubhouse wanted $60 each for all of us to ride. Need to walk and have a residence card for the GolfNow price. A round at this course is not even worth $30. The greens have flowers and crabgrass all over them. All different speeds. Next time we'll just play Presidio for $20 more.
Great location but lots of work needed
The location of Lincoln Park Golf Course is incredible. Tucked right in the middle of San Francisco, on the Bay with amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Legion of Honor.
If you're considering a round at this course, please only do it for the views. Not the golf.
The course is in terrible condition. The greens are all poa annua and simply unplayable. No signage to make it easy to find the next hole. If it weren't for the views and the weather this would have been one of the most miserable rounds of golf I've ever played.
Carts
The carts are too noisy and should be electric. Had to keep pressing on the pettel a couple times before it started to go. Also I had to keep playing around with the choke on the golf cart just so it could move. Its a golf course with beautiful views that should be the only reason why people love it. Other then that crystal springs is a professionals Golf course.
Please Update Lincoln!!!
It's a shame that such beautiful land and layout is wasted by a lack of maintenance and effort. The conditions are absolutely atrocious. The greens are the worst I've played anywhere in the world. The fairways and rough are indistinguishable from one another. The tee boxes are all 80% dirt, 20% weeds and dead grass. The golf carts are rusty old exhaust spewing, noise polluting, rattletraps. There is zero concern about pace of play, number of players in a group, or signage around the course. Unless you've played here before you won't know where to go to find your next tee box. Our round took 6 hours to complete.
The only saving grace is that the scenery is unbelievably gorgeous. The only reason I come to Lincoln is for the views. I'm mystified that the city of SF doesn't take a little bit of pride in this little gem and resuscitate it with and infusion of time and money. It has an incredible amount of old weather-beaten features that with a little bit of effort, could be turned into charming attractions.
Great views
The views of the city and golden gate bridge were awesome. But the course was in rough shape. if you score on the greens don't play here. Huge patches of clover speratocaly scattered on almost every green make putting impossible.
This golf course has Great views of Golden Gate Bridge
Great view of the G.G.bridge - but the greens had sand and some temporary greens in played - need not tell you this when getting tee time - but made the best of it -
Good shape for the time of year!
All is well at lincoln right now. We play there at least 2-3 times a month but weirdly not for the last two. It was in great shape for no rain and we had a blast! Gotta love Paul in the pro shop too! Have fun!
OK course BUT
Overall the course is in OK shape at best:
Pros- great views of the GG Bridge
Cons- greens are mixed grass uneven surface.
Cart paths are in terrible shape.
Fairways cut too high with white flowers making it hard to spot your ball.
My car had it's window smashed out and property stolen while in the parking lot.
Too expensive for the course conditions especially for a non resident.
lincoln as ive never seen it
at least I'm seeing the benefit of the rain. the brown grass was gone all I could see was green.
course played well although after the rain there wasn't a whole lot of roll......
A Nice Course
The course is short & hilly, and a lot of fun to play.
We played it after a long rainy spell & the course was very wet. Carts were restricted to the paths. Although hilly, it would be a good course to walk.
It affords wonderful views of the Golden Gate Bridge and many people sightsee along with the golfers.
The club house was not in the best of shape, but the staff was very friendly.
We will play it again.
Reviews accurate
The reviews on the course are accurate, so I was not too disappointed. Greens and fairways not well-maintained. In addition, course is extremely wet and muddy and does not drain well, so this added to the poor conditions. That said, the views are spectacular. Go for views, not so much for golf. Staff was friendly. Rental clubs not great.
Lincoln park. SF Calif
Great Ocean and Golden Gate Bridge views.
Real bad and unkept greens.
Great for date golf but not for the serious golfer.
beautiful view on the 17th tee box, the greens are in very bad shape
The fairways and greens were in bad shape, but mostly the greens were about as fast as a nice course's fairway. I hate to say anything bad about this course, because of the beautiful view on the 17th tee. Don't let their photos fool you the course isn't that green.
Leave the attitude at home
The views can't be beat. The fairways and greens... well the views can't be beat. The clubhouse and bar staff are very friendly. Pace of play was under 4 hours on a Sunday morning (unheard of in the Bay Area). Don't expect to be true-rolling birdie putts. Just go to have a good time, enjoy the views, and you'll be fine.
Great Place to View SF
This is a great layout. Sadly, the course needs significant attention, especially the greens. The greens are in such ragged condition that you really can't putt/keep score. It is a good place to practice, see great SF views and get a good workout walking the course.
