Great twilight round
I started at 2:15pm and finished in time to watch the Giants win the pennant. What more can you ask for? This course was well-maintained, and a solid play, especially for the $22 twilight round.
One of the most scenic courses in San Francisco.
The course has awesome views of the Golden Gate.A beautiful course for lots of selfies. The course needs an infusion of so monies which the city dose not have?Interesting shots ,mostly short holes but lots of blind shots. Its worth the money just for the views. The course needs some new markings ,its easy to get confused on which way to go.Some holes not marked very clearly. Also three years of drought have done some damage. You need to get their in the morning before high schools come in the afternoon. Also playing in the fall is a good idea weather is the best then.
best value in sf with best views hands down
loved the layout with coastal pines. every hole has elevation. greens are not consistent. fairways are patchy. tee boxes are funny. but you cannot beat the views and weather in sf for $50 w/cart. would return just for the weather and views. fantastic day for me. the trak is not very difficult until you get to final three holes. 16th is much harder than 17th but once you realize you must hit a long fade its not too bad. good luck at the end.
poor lincoln!
used to be fun, drive and wedge. while the greens aerification was bad timing. the state of disrepair may be long term. apparently the city of San Francisco decided to quit watering the grass. trying to stave off criticism of wasting precious water during California's drought. still very scenic though.
It's worth the challenge
Just for the spectacular view of the Golden Gate and climbing up and down the terrain, I fully enjoyed playing there. It is a test for your cardiovascular condition if you walk the whole course. I'll definitely play there again.
Could be a Gem
Lincoln Park GC could be a gem. It is a shortish, sporty course on which 4 is a possible score on every hole. There are a lot of short par 4`s, one short par 5, but long par 3's. After an easy time for 15 holes, the last 3 are tough including the 240 yard par 3 17th with great views on the ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge. It's easy enough for all abilities to enjoy, but a challenge for highly skilled golfers to score well.
Unfortunately, the condition of the course is poor to fair. It would be great if the City could take some of the money coming in from Harding Park and upgrade Lincoln. With great conditions, it could be a mini-Cypress Point in the heart of SF.
Great SF Golf Expereince
I was up in SF and my wife was at a conference. I had the morning to myself and found Lincoln Park on Golf Now. I was pleasantly surprised by the course. Fun elevation changes, soft greens, AMAZING views of the Bay and Golden Gate Bridge. A personal favorite trait: no houses. Friendly staff and cool merchandise (bought a Nike rain jacket with SF Giants logo). Overall, I had a great time. I'd go back for sure.
Great views of Golden Gate Bridge, Pacific, and Bay.
Good tight fairways. Challenging to me. It is not a long course but I found it moderately difficult.
Lincoln Park, 7/22
Gorgeous day, good company, lots of fun. Let's do it again.
What a dump.
If it werent for the views this place should be free. Typical SF muni! The City putsno money into the place and it should be a gem. Lousy greens. like putting on cabbage. Fairways are worse.....nothing cutdown...no yardage markers. Just a disgrace to this great town. Facility is run down from clubhouse to carts. Lawns in the ghetto are in better shape than Lincoln. Private management group would be the best bet here rather than supporting some city agenda with the green fees.
Great location!
Lincoln Park is a decent muni with great location and wonderful views. The course is on the easy side - it plays short and you don't really need your driver, although a few of the par 3s are long. Lots of ups and downs which adds an element of challenge and provides good exercise if you are walking! Condition of the greens was quite poor and variable - so putting wasn't a great experience. I was pleasantly surprised by the pace of play - 4 hours for 18 holes on a Sunday afternoon, that was great!
Lincoln Park
I walked on as a single on a Tuesday at noon. I played the front 9 without seeing a single person. I kind of was wanting to see someone. Be careful what you ask for.because when i hit the turn i caught up to everyone and it took all the joy that I had previously experienced. Oh well
Beautiful scenery and good value
Location is spectacular and the views are great. Will play again. Lots of fun.
Great Location
Fantastic location and great value for money for a round of golf with stunning views. 2 of us were only charged $26 all up for the cart, not $26 each like some are saying. Enjoyed the whole experience of a round of golf in the USA'
Cant beat the price
For the price and convenience its a really good course. I do feel that since they don't let you split cart fee's its kinda of a rip off. Never heard of that before. So you can pay $18 for play but $26 for a cart, per person!!
They do bring out beers and food to you n the course, major thumbs up for that.
I walk since its a really short course.
A darned shame
It's a darned shame that this course has been allowed to fall into such poor shape.
The natural layout of this course is fantastic and could be (and probably was in the past) a jewel for San Francisco. The views are amazing. The course is very hilly, which makes it difficult to walk.
The club house should be cleaned and repainted. It could be condemned by the city. It obviously hasn't had attention in many years.
The greens roll at about 3 on the stemp meter and are mostly weeds rather than grass. The fairways are not much better.
The fees for nonresidents is completely out of line. $62.00 (with a cart) is a ridiculous amount for this dump.
The parking is a block away and the carts are not allowed in the parking lot, so you must carry your bag across a busy street to club house. The carts are old, gasoline powered, needing cleaning. Who uses gas carts any more?
It's a darned shame.
Lincoln Park Golf Course Review
The course was in average condition and the greens need to be rolled .... Weather in that part of the world is cold ... Windy ... Foggy
The greens have weeds
The weeds on the greens slowed down the roll of golf balls.
Lincoln Golf Course
Lincoln is a tough golf course to play. It has extreme uphill & downhill lies that fairway woods should not be used except in the tee box. This difficulty makes up for the shortness of the course of 5100 yards. The course is very dry due to the lack of rain & watering. Playing time was more than 4.5 hours due to slow groups ahead. No Marshall was around to enforce ready golf rules otherwise it was a decent experience.
great old track
I have played this course many times over the last 20 years. It is what it is - beautiful views of the Golden Gate is worth the price of admission and the terrain makes it challenging shot making. The course is short so the hills and trees really shape the
Shots. I think the greens were in the best shape I've seen them in a long time - they just need a rolling and a cutting to make them putt true and with a little speed. Maybe they will do that more frequently once Summer starts.
