Golfer Reviews
Great greens
Even though drying out a little for overseeing, greens rolled great! Some of the best greens around. Tough but fair. Would recommend.
Under Construction
The course was great but the off course amenities were still under construction. Once everything gets up and running I’m sure this will be one of the top courses in the valley. Had a great time and the greens will make you work for it. Have fun, I did.
Great Golf course
Enjoyed playing Sterling Grove for the first time being able to play one of the newer courses
Nice course. Very friendly with huge fairways. Greens have nice slopes and undulation making for challenging putts.
Great place
Short & Sweet. It's a new course. It's a good course. Staff is amazing. The bar/restaurant and toilets on the course are still in progress. The clubhouse is nice. They've cut some of the long grass down since the last time I was here (2 months ago). A very playable course and layout, but I find the greens to be tough, but that's just me. I would play here any day of the week. Anyone who has left a review that SG is a horrible course or that there was no clubhouse is full of it. Please play here before it goes private.
Great deal.
Price for the course was excellent. The course was in great condition for the time if year, thanks to the rains. Can’t wait for the while experience to be better once the clubhouse is done.
Challenging greens and what is up with the flies?
This is a fantastic new golf course with a good layout and the greens are extremely challenging but some are extremely frustrating too. Pin placements can be ridiculous based on the design of the greens. Some are placed on sloped areas that make it frustrating to get your ball to stop without rolling off the green. I welcome the challenge of putting but a few holes make you feel like your putting into the mouth of the clown at a put-put golf center. (it has been many moons ago that I visited one but that memory never fades lol) The title is only because the last few times that I have played the flies were swarming our cart all day to the point I felt dirty at the end of the round. There was a sewer/waste smell as well that I have not noticed before. Recycled waste pond water maybe? Maybe the reason for the flies??? Hopefully that does not continue to be an issue. I can deal with the challenging and some ridiculous pin placements but not them nasty flies.
Challenging course
Great challenging course. Pin placements are crazy. Can’t wait til all of the construction is complete.
Horrible mosquito problem
They had the worst mosquito problem I have ever seen. Could not play the course
Fun course, greens will get your attention!
We caught it in soft condition and the greens were de-fanged. On dry conditions, this course is a good challenge. The layout offers risk/reward options and is mostly visible. Some hidden high grass/ muddy areas , but overall a fun and challenging course! Staff is super friendly!
