San Juan Hills Golf Club
About
Tucked away in the hills of San Juan Capistrano, San Juan Golf Course is situated midway between Los Angeles and San Diego. Its location is conveniently close to Legoland, Disneyland, the San Diego Zoo, and miles of sandy beaches. The championship golf course underwent a major renovation of its fairways and greens, making them some of the best in south Orange County. The layout consists of a diverse array of holes that range in length from short to long and some are hilly while others are flatter. Being a public golf course and having a versatile layout, San Juan G.C. is a popular place for tournaments and events. At either end of the course there are practice facilities as well. On the west side you'll find a putting green and sand bunker as well as a chipping area, and on the other end you'll find a grass driving range.

friendly but challenging
Lay out was good open design but challenging, definitly would play again
Great day of golf always at San Juan Hills
I didn't like the wind on some of my shots, but it was much cooler with it so it was good to have. The course was great, the greens very challenging pin placements, and the fairways were pretty green, except for some bare spots. Overall a great day of golf.
Great track
For the money this is a great course, a d I would highly recommend d it. Open fairways with guarded and somewhat challenging greens.
Beautiful Twilight
This is a great course and is a deal for twilight. Great kept greens, beautiful grown trees, moderate difficulty. Would def recommend.
Challenging yet fair course with a great 19th hole
The course has fair elevation changes and each hole is unique. You'll be challenged, but not overwhelmed by the course. The carts have GPS built in, but there are a few holes where course knowlege will put the right club in your hand and save you strokes. The clubhouse also has an awesome 19th hole if you have no where to be after the round.
Nice place to play.
Excellent place to play and they have a new club house with very good food at reasonable prices.
beautifu fun course
ThIs Wa My First Time Playing SJh Was Very Impressed With The Whole Experience From The Pro Shop To The Beautiful Course The Holes Are Very Diverse Some LongHoles Short Ones And Everything In Between, Very Well Maintaine Good Greens Had A Great Time On The Course. Then HiT The Bar &Grill On The PropertyGreat Food GreAt Beer On Tap And A BunchOf T.vS Showing Sports On All. Will DefiantlyBe Back Overall Great Experience.
nice golfing on the coast
The course was in decent shape although some of the tee offs were kinda rough and the greens were inconsistent. The pace was very nice on the front 9, but then we ended up playing with another twosome who were extremely slow and they could not be moved along. That kinda wrecked our game. We liked the course and plan to return.
Great condition
Got a great bargain through Golfnow. I have played here many times. The course is always well maintained. They also have satellite on the cart.
Overpriced.
In addition, I brought my fiance out with me (not a golfer) to drive the cart, have a few drinks, and to hang out with me. They charged me the full rate for her. I thought this was insanely harsh. I'll only play this course again if there is a hot deal at 50-60% off...otherwise I'll be playing Shorecliffs, Rancho SJ, or Meadowlark. The staff is rude too.
Fun course
This course has alot of fun holes with challenging approach shots. Being in the hills make reading the greens tricky.
Good Value $35.00
We got on at 1:45pm for $35, they were not too busy for the mid week early twilight so we got out a bit early and there was no one in front of us. Greens were in good condition but a little slow, fairways need some attention and there were spots in the rough that had not been cut for weeks....Overall a good value, I would pay $35 to play there anytime, not sure if I would pay the $65-$75 on the weekends just because the pace of play gets so slow...The marshall was very annoying asking our 3 some to keep up pace...there was NO ONE IN FRONT OF US and we had 3 holes of separation from the group behind us except for hole #10 when we stopped to reload on beers. Cart lady did not smile once and was very unfriendly even when I gave her a $5.00 tip on the 6pack I bought from her....
Fun to play
First time at the course and liked it a lot - fun to play, which is most important to me. Very good facility. I am a 72 year old player with neck and back problems, but still enjoy playing.
Good course for the money
Course was in pretty good shape and you get your money's worth. Some challenging holes and some easy ones as well.
The Greens are sweet and the course is in excellent condition.
The Greens are sweet and the course is in excellent condition.
Very relaxing yet challenging, great course!
Plated a twilight which was slower than I would have expected. Suspect I was just unlucky. Enjoyed the ambiance!
One of the best values in Orange County
Course has a lot of variety. Was in great shape. I always enjoy playing here.
Great Day at SJHGC
I thought this was a lot of fun with some challenges regarding the blue tee's and pin placement...overall, a great day on a fun course.
no two holes alike
The front side was hilly with unusual foot lays. The back nine was mostly flat with danger in all the right/wrong places. Could see the dangers but fun risk/reward. Long distance between greens and tee boxes, card a good idea. .Course not long
The greens were very challenging, which protected the course.
Course well taken care of, which resulted in each hole being challenging.
