Fun to play
Even when weather is HOT it's fun to play. Not all that difficult, some holes play long.
Excellent experience
The course played very well. Wide open fairways and nice greens made for a great day of golf. The cart girl (Laura) was nice and very friendly. The total experience from check in to the 19th hole was great.
well done
What a nice time at a golf course. Course was in great shape and well matained. I wil be olaying there as often as i can this season.
You like a challenge?
The Palms course is thus-far the most challenging course I've played here in the west Phoenix area. I was paired up with a threesome and the pace of play was good. It took about 4.25 hours to complete play. The tee boxes are well maintained, fairways and first cut also in good shape. Unfortunately, the sand-traps need better sand. Some were hard as cement playing. You had to really "dig" into it to get any kind of "out" play or ball comes out "hot" and unforgiving. For middle aged players, such as myself, it's a great challenging course when you keep it in play and opt for longer approaches.
Great shape for this time of year
Excellent conditions apart from some excessive water on a few of the fairways. Bunkers were saturated for the most part. Course needs more than one beverage cart, especially in this heat.
Fun course
Executive course. Some challenging holes with water and bunkers. Greens were in not so good shape. Still had fun though.
Good course
Shot the best round ever the course was in ok shape Green were true fair ways in good shape
Fun Course, Needs some TLC
Played the Lakes course.
It was a fun little course, nice layout.
No problems with the pace of play, didn't have any groups within 5-6 holes of us.
The greens, especially on the front nine were in terrible condition. Hopefully they can get them back in shape.
Will probably try this course again in the future.
Course has many interesting holes
We started with lunch at the clubhouse and thoroughly enjoyed it. The server was helpful and friendly and the food was tasty and presented well. We played the 18 hole Palms Course and found it to be challenging enough to keep our interest. The tee boxes and greens were in great shape. It's heating up here so there weren't a high number of players in the afternoon, which made the pace of play perfect. All-in-all, a fun day.
Playing the Palms
Wonderful layout. Greens fast and undulating. Enjoyed my playing partner's tips, and had a wonderful time overall.
Palm Valley Lakes Course
This is a course with several short holes, which is great if you want to practice your short game. The first nine putting greens were not in great condition, however the last nine were fine.
Needs attention!
I used to play Palm Valley all the time many years ago when I had a couple of friends that lived on the course. I'll cut to the chase. Greens were consistent but dried out, very fast. you could see cracks in the base in many places. (Way too early for that.) Bunkers had little to no sand in them or at least they had not been turned in a very long time. The worst bunkers I have seen anywhere in a very long time. Slow play with no Ranger or beverage service. Waste cans overflowing at every hole. A few water jugs out of water. I was just disappointed having played this course for many years to see how it had changed. It used to be Primo all year round. I wonder what it will be like after it gets hot?
bad greens
We played the palm valley lakes course the greens were not playable and t boxes were in bad shape. I think that if they would have said the course was in bad shape when we check in we could played some place else. Waist of time and money!!!!!!
You forget to pay the water bill???
I've been playing her for 7 years- this is the worst I've ever seen it. Greens were horrendous .I could putt better in the parking lot. Whole course was extremely dry. Cart girl only came by once in 3 1/2 hrs. Doubt I'll ever come back.
Great course
Great course layout. Greens were in awesome shape, soft and rolling smooth. Tee to green, well worth the rate. Would book it again
Great Tee Box - Lousy Greens
I arrived early someone took my bag from me at Bag drop and loaded it into my cart. When I went to check in they told me the course was wide open and I can tee off any time. The Practice Green was in great shape and I took ten minutes to hit some practice putts to get an Idea of their speed. When I drove to first tee the Tee box was immaculate so I was really looking forward to this. On my second shot into the green I noticed the green looked a little off color, and when I arrived at the green it looked terrible. I am not sure if some over seeding was going on or what but to make any putt over 10 feet would be pure luck since this was the roughest greens I have ever seen. It was very disappointing.
The Home of the 5 hour round!
Always a delay for one reason or another. Always over booked. Course isn't bad, but little or no sand in the traps. Greens are decent but pace of play is super sloooooow. No Palm card for me next year. Happy hour is over at 4?????
Pleasantly surprised by this course layout and condition
First time playing the Palms course and I will be back. I think a little price during the peak season but definitely worth playing for under $40. The greens were consistant with no scarring and the fairways were well maintained. The course is surrounded by houses but they don't come into play which is nice. The bunkers are terrible and hard so don't hit in them! If managment can address the hardpan bunkers, this course will be tough to beat in the west valley.
The Palms Lake Course gets way overbooked
Played the first 3 holes on the Lakes course. It was so overbooked that after waiting at the 3rd hole for at least 10 minutes just for the group in front of us to tee off we just went back to the club house. Seems Fridays at 1pm they have a group of 28 very old people (70-80ish) golf there. They failed to tell us that and it was so backed up that we quit. Our tee time was 1.27 pm and we waited at every hole after the first hole. However, that said they were good enough to let us play the Palms course which is a much better and longer course. So all in all it worked out but it would have been great if they would have been upfront in the first place. Just a note but when we teed off on the 1st hole of the Palms course the marshal stopped and talked to us for a bit. He told us he was just on his way to the Lakes course to talk to the older people who were backing up the course considerably.
The Condition has greatly improved since i played the course 5 yrs ago.
Recommend thru tunnels better directions to the next hole.. A course layout would be nice on the back of the scorecard?
