Nice and green
We were very impressed with the condition of the course for this time if year. Really enjoyed our 2 rounds . It was a good pace of play also. I did not rate the food as we did not stay for supper, but we're told it was good also.
Great course
The course was very green and well groomed. Views were spectacular.
five and one half hour round
5 &1/2 hour round and won't do it again. Sending groups off way too soon. Should be at least every 8 minutes.
Well kept course, except for bunkers
Great value. One of the best courses for value in west valley. Just came off reseeding so greens will speed up before long. Bunkers needed sand and turned as there were no soft sand. Roughs were very long on this trip
Good round ruined
The 2 of us played the front 9 in under 2 hours. We then had a foursome inject themselves in front of us at the turn. They were playing from the blue tees, and on one of the par 4's waited until the group ahead of them had cleared the green before teeing off. Some of their tee shots barely travelled 150 yards. There was nary a marshall in sight. There were quite a few upset golfers in their wake. It was almost 3 hours to play the back nine.
The only course complaint we had was that the bunkers were full of wet sand, and in some cases, standing water. If the course would employ a marshall, it would have been a good place to play as the course itself is challenging.
great course
Highly recommended. Great day, challenging and fun!
very nice course
play was a little slow but that was due to cart path only.... grass was a little long and cuttings around the greens but that was due to overseeding... I suspect that everything will be excellent next week....
where's the send?
Great Kept Secret...Always In Great Shape With The Exception Of The Sand Traps.....Problem No Sand!...The Traps Contain Wet Packed Sand An mud.
Zero Maintenance
I should not have played the course upon first seeing the fairways. The fairways were cut down to dried out grass with dirt exposure. The bunkers were nothing more that dried up mud parches with little to no sand and drainage trails all over the inside of the bunker.
The cart paths (cement) are covered with dirt, sand, and pebbles, that could have least been cleaned up a bit. The greens were below average as well but were in better condition than the overall course. I heard the course was going to be over seeded shortly but this course should have been closed already.
course conditions
With all the recent rains the course was in good condiion.
Better Value Elsewhere
Can't blame Palm Valley for condensation on the greens or standing water and mud following Sunday's heavy rains but overall, the greens were not in very good condition with several burned out spots, and the Golfnow price of $32 per player is not a very good value right now, considering we have been playing at Lonetree in Chandler for $28, which is in excellent condition, or Dobson Ranch in Mesa, also excellent conditions, for $28. Also, the $32 we paid was advertised as being a 43% savings off the regular price. We would have been very disappointed had we paid the "regular price."
Still good value
Crew was still busy with getting the course back in shape after the record rainfall of last week. All things considered, playing conditions were pretty good, and I enjoyed my round.
Unexpected
Nice course. Played with discount luckely, because of raindamage in bunkers what was not mentioned on the site.
Challeging holes
Good Conditions
This course recently went through a major monsoon event 3 days prior and we found it to be in very good conditions considering the amount of rain that had fallen earlier in the week. Yes not all of the grass had been cut yet, but was still quite playable. And the bunkers were nothing but hard pan, but then who plays in the bunker anyway. :) well it was bad, but considering everything else I would still recommend playing here anytime, As the bunkers will dry and we will play on.
Average Shape for August
The course was in average shape for August in the desert. There were some areas that were burned out, the fairways were green but thin in most places. The greens were in good shape and the rough was either very long or bare. All in all a good experience. Pace of play was better once the twosome that was two groups up stopped playing at the turn. Front nine in 2.5 hours and back in just about 2 hrs.
Great Staff
Really enjoy playing Palmbrook! Great value and Darin in the Pro Shop does a Great Job! Will play here often!
Needs Help
Palm Valley has always been a very busy and super facility with well cared for greens, fairways, rough and bunkers. I played today and was disappointed in the current conditions. The rough and edges of the fairways were in severe disrepair with loads of dead grass areas. I could see they were working on the problems. The bunkers were also very hard pan sand. Middle of the fairways and greens were very good though. I will still come back and think we all should.
somw great holes
Course was not in ideal condition, given the summer weather it was average
Palm Valley
50% of Yardage markers on sprinklers were gone, directions from one hole to next can be better especially between hole 4 and 5. Just a simple arrow as you exit the tunnels. Greens were in great shape but areas around greens were cleaned up or died leaving dirt . Staff was very friendly and u can see what the groundskeeper is doing so the course will be perfect for the fall winter season.
great value
Outstanding condition for the middle of a Phoenix summer. Thoroughly enjoyable. Fairways and Greens were in great shape, obvious a lot of water was used to keep this course playable. Had played a neighboring course (2 miles away) the day before and was totally un-impressed with their course maintenance (bad greens). Palm Valley was a great value for the middle of the summer. Will return with other players.
