Castle Oaks Golf Club

I was stuck in traffic so I called the pro shop. The gentleman said we’ll figure it out just drive safely. That says tons to me. Then I went in at the turn to get something and he referred to me as Mr. he remembered me which I think says tons. The course is great. There were a couple spots where it must be a drainage because it was really wet and muddy. Otherwise I’ll continue to drive an hour to play there.

I’ve played this course maybe 15+ times. And I will say I use to like making the drive from Elk Grove to ione. Today (8/15/21) the course was in HORRIBLE shape. The greens were covered in machine cuts, rott, and looked like the divots haven’t been repaired in at least a week. The cups were clearly not moved for a extended period of time as the rims were destroyed and overused. The course was flooded, bunkers were littered with golf ball size rocks that will destroy you clubs, not a Marshall in sight as the pace was 5 hours for 18. The tee box grass was longer than the fairways, the greens were so overgrown, one had thick crab grass, the rolls were as slow as a snail. Don’t see myself spending my money here again anytime soon if these major issues aren’t resolved. Charging $62 for a round and having the condition be this bad on a Sunday morning 7am Tee time is completely unacceptable.

First time to play this excellent course. Played with my sons and wife and had an enjoyable time on this well maintained course

This course has an interesting layout and is in excellent condition. Great course for the price.

Enjoyed our round yesterday in the hot Ione weather. Pace of play was excellent due to the hot weather and the course was in great condition. The greens are well maintained and rolling so true. A thumbs up to the grounds keepers for keeping the course in great shape with the hot weather. Only downfall was the bathrooms not being maintained on the course and the trash cans being over filled. But yeah I'd definitely come back with my wife. We had a great time.

Mud everywhere. Fairways sopping wet. One of the few courses where poor conditions truly add at least 5 strokes to your game.

I ended up waiting behind two groups on every tea during the back nine it was excruciating

This course is fun with excellent views and some Rollinghills fairways are kept up in great shape same with the greens I definitely recommend this course.
