About
The Club at Savannah Harbor is steeped in Southern charm, offering dramatic views that span from the surrounding wetlands of the Back River to Savannah's famous Historic District. Sam Snead and Bob Cupp designed the golf course. Their ultimate goal was to bring to life the philosophy of "risk and reward." For example, a well executed shot placed near a hazard is rewarded with less club to the green or a better approach angle, or even both. The putting surfaces have gentle transitions to different pin locations, making them more traditional than modern. The designers incorporated another classic design element, the greens have subtle roll-offs or collars that fall away, a feature of golf courses from the 1930s and 40s. Golfers can also use the club's large, duel-ended practice facility.

Tough Course

First time
Early season and after torrential rain for two straight days prior and still played well. Another month with warm weather and the greens will be in great shape. Will definitely play again “in season “.

Greens
Course had a good layout but the greens were very disappointing for the couse fee. Painted greens and a lot of weeds and dead spots.

One of Georgia's best
I can totally see why this course ranks as one of Georgia's top golf courses. Everything in this course was top class, from the course itself, to the practice facilities, to the club house. The tees, fairways and greens were absolutely pristine. The greens showed some weed invasion, but it didn't bother me because they were mowed and rolled great, and rolled pretty true. If you're a Troon member, the rate is a great deal. I will definitely come back and play again, this time from the gold tees, because the silver tees were a bit short.

Conditions were OK. For 112 you are paying for the course layout. No GPS in carts, very little sizzle

Great Layout
The course has a great layout. Big well kept fairways and challenging greens to putt on. Lots of wildlife , we saw an eagle and a few alligators. Great views of the city skyline topped of by a great lucnh in the clubhouse

Ups and downs
I made a prepaid tee time four days in advance but upon arrival there was no knowledge of it. I ended up getting paired with another guy who experienced the same thing. The course was fun and the greens were in good shape for this time of year. The on-course restrooms were a disaster and totally unsanitary. They obviously had not been checked on in a week, trash overflowing, mud in the sinks, etc. It’s a convenient location but pricey and upwards of 4 1/2 hours after we finally were able to start, which was about a 1/2 hour later than we booked online.

Worst course I have ever played! Pace of play is 30 minutes on each hole so far! Looks like they are concerned with taking everyone’s money and then they could care less! I wouldn’t recommend this disaster to anyone!

Checked out staff
Stayed at the Westin resort and had to take shuttles to and from the golf course. After a 15 minute wait for the shuttle and 10 minute wait for the bag guy to bring my clubs I had 15 mins till my tee time... As I returned from the range 5 mins later they mocked me “guy doesn’t need a warm up”. The pro shop manager apologized and said it’s cause they are working off limited employees is why it took 30 mins to travel <1 mile.
Fire the condescending employees because the bag boys at the end of the round were super nice. Not worth $50 or the $100 I paid which was over priced and not a “resort”. Save your money because that’s obviously what Westin/Marriott are doing with this swamp.

simply the best public access course in the area, always in great shape. a must play if in the hilton head/savannah area.i just wish it a little less $

Exceptional Experience !!! ALWAYS
The Club at Savannah Harbor is easily among the top 5 courses in the area. Greens/fairways well maintained. Course is challenging and rewards solid golf, but would be fun for the high handicapper as well. More importantly, the STAFF at The CLUB are truly EXCEPTIONAL, from the food/beverage staff, to club professionals to course staff! They all perform their jobs with a genuine intent of providing the BEST experience possible for the golfer. First rate staff, awesome golf course. You can’t lose. Play this course if you love golf.

winter conditions on a great course
there's been frost lately and the fairways are naturally dormant made for good rollout. greens were great, fast and true, although there was a good bit of foot traffic marks and pitch marks, but otherwise great. staff was friendly, cart path girl was prompt. things went well.
