The Club at Savannah Harbor
About
The Club at Savannah Harbor is steeped in Southern charm, offering dramatic views that span from the surrounding wetlands of the Back River to Savannah's famous Historic District. Sam Snead and Bob Cupp designed the golf course. Their ultimate goal was to bring to life the philosophy of "risk and reward." For example, a well executed shot placed near a hazard is rewarded with less club to the green or a better approach angle, or even both. The putting surfaces have gentle transitions to different pin locations, making them more traditional than modern. The designers incorporated another classic design element, the greens have subtle roll-offs or collars that fall away, a feature of golf courses from the 1930s and 40s. Golfers can also use the club's large, duel-ended practice facility.

Golfer Reviews
A great day on the links!
We went out early and had a great time. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the gators we saw were small and sleepy - all good. This was a last minute idea, so we had to rent clubs, which here in excellent condition and better than those I use at home. Would do it again in heartbeat. Very well worth the modest cost.
Slow play!
Only 20 people on course. Followed a twosome with no golf etiquette it took 5 hours! No ranger. Sad and frustrating, it was a beautiful course.
Must Play While in Savannah
A great layout that about anyone can play well if they choose the right tees. The views of Savannah and the bridge from the course are spectacular. Even with a recent aeration, it was fantastic to play. I'm from Nebraska and grew up playing courses with bent grass, bluegrass, fescue, etc... It's really great to play a 100% Bermuda grass course. I played really early in the day and was done in 2:45 with a playing partner.
As I said, pick the right tees and you'll have fun. I'm a 5 index but played with a guy who plays maybe five times a year, so we played the Silver tees (69.5/125). I was rewarded with good drives, punished fairly for bad ones. I don't think I would have played much differently from the Gold tees, but the Black tees would have are my lunch! Everything on the course is out in front of you for the most part. A few of the par 5s were doglegs where I went through the fairway, but I probably should have been back a box.
The staff and servo ice are too notch, just as joyous expect from a Troon property. I drove away really glad I decided to play there. I'll make a point of playing there again if I'm ever back.
Great golf experience
we had to play the back nine twice because of airating the front nine greens. The greens were fairly fast, balls stuck in place, fairways beautiful. Course staff are very professional and polite. This is always a GREAT round of golf at Savannah Harbor
Great club
Playing Savannah Harbor was well worth the price . the course is in excellent condition and the staff was very accomodating. Cannot wait to play it again.
Awesome course
This was a great course to play. It was in excellent condition and the employees were very friendly and helpful.
The course was great but they do not enforce pace of play.
The course was in excellent condition and was good challenge. The only problem is we had to wait 10 minutes on every tee box because the pace of play was so slow. Either they do not enforce pace of play or they stack too many tee times close together.
Bring the Bug Spray and Have Fun!
We played on a Sunday afternoon with nice weather and a good breeze off the water. The course is absolutely beautiful and in great shape! This is one of the best courses I have ever played. The mosquitos were biggest drawback.
PROS: Beautiful Course with a challenging layout. The starter and pro-shop staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Great facilities.
CONS: Mosquitos, mosquitos, mosquitos. I wish someone had mentioned this before we headed out. So busy swatting bugs it was almost impossible to strike the ball on holes 2 - 5. If it weren't for the beverage cart girl who loaned us some of her insect repellent, we might not have been able to make it to purchase our own when we made the turn. Also, suprisingly, the pro shop was closed when we finished jusst after 6 pm.
Overall, I thought it was a fun and entertaining day. If I have the opportunity to play this course again I will bring the insect repellent ahead of time and play from what they called "Member" tees (mix of Black, Gold and mostly Silver) versus the Gold which was a little long for my game.
Overall Experience
The course was in excellent shape and play was personally dictated. The property and amenities were excellent and matched the course condition/challenge.
A day at the Harbor
Was a great time and the price was right "come on down and play the Westin in beautiful Savannah Ga.If you have never played this course you are missing a once in a life time thrill. You can experience the same course the greatest golfers in the world have walked upon.I would tell everyone to try this course once and I'm positive you will be returning for another round. Thanks again Golf Now you made four golfers very happy.
Good but overpriced
Good layout with most of the difficulty on and around the greens.Good conditioning but not at the level of the green fees.Had I not had a significant Golf now discount I would have definitely felt cheated.Staff was very friendly and ice machines out on the course is a nice touch.
best Savannah golf
Great course. Best public golf in Savannah! My favorite in low country for course layout and conditions.
a pga tour like experience
This was easily the best course I have played on to date. Pristine throughout, tees, fairways, greens, even the rough. Although the course is wide open for the most part it does present lots of challenges with its placement of bunkers and pitchy greens. Be sure to take along bug spray. The mosquitoes are plentiful at times. All that said, best golfing experience yet.
Great course but....
Great course, nice facility. Two issues. 1) The starter made no attempt tp pair up groups or control the grouping intervals. There were a number of twosomes, singles, and foursomes that were sent out. We were a twosome waiting or being pressed by singles throughout the round. 2). Food service at the turn is terrible. Took forever to get waited on.
Tough Rough!
Rough needs some trimming-easy to loose ball and spend too much time looking for it.
Check out wildlife before reaching down to pick up your ball near the ponds!
Great course for the money and location
We got a smoking price for an 8:30 tee time and the course was in excellent condition. Water hazards included huge Gators that made Chubs hide his other hand. Close to the City and plays long from the tips. At the price we received on Golf Now it was a great deal. A true vacation golf destination!
Bad Design
This course has a strange design. The short holes have little trouble, bunkers or interest. The longer holes have water, lot's of bunkers, and tight fairways. Overall, i didn't care for it. better places to play in the area.
Nice
Played here years ago. Got a great deal on GOlf Now. Course was great. extremely windy but otherwise a great day. Lost to my son when he eagled the short par 4. I relly like this course.
Great course
Very nice friendly staff I would not pay full price
