Dry day at Wellen
Course in great shape after heavy rains Thursday, drains nicely. As always the beverage crt woman Kelly was fantastic, great service with a smile.
Will be Great
The course is very nice, but the entire surroundings are being built around it with housing construction galore. Noise, and unattractive views take away from the overall experience. There is no clubhouse lounge yet (coming September 2024 we were told) and the on-course restrooms are not completely finished (I believe construction crews are using them and leaving them a mess). It will be two years before the massive housing effort is complete. Then, it will be nicer but the roads and likely the course will be overcrowded. They are building Lakewood Ranch in this community. I imagine the costs will skyrocket as well. Have to wait and see.
Course was an excellent condition
It was posted that the Greens had been aerated. The tropical storm that passed through must have done a fabulous job because the greens were excellent.
Great for now.
Wacky layout that still needs a bit more marking. This community is still under construction. Although none of the houses come in to play, they are awfully close to the fairways, which leads me to believe at some point they will come in to play. Course was in great condition and was an overall pleasure. Currently, they do not offer much as far as liquor sales from the “Cart Girl”, she does have beer, as they are waiting a liquor license to open up the restaurant and bar.

Will Play Again In 18 Months
Read many good reviews about Wellen Park. So we finally played on 7/31. No doubt, the course is in excellent condition. The staff was incredible. The facilities were first class. But the course was boring. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but I was disappointed. Maybe after the construction is complete and the landscaping grows in a little more we’ll be back.
Worth it at $43-75
Nice course. Well maintained. Professionally staffed. Good driving range as nd practice facilities.
Broad fairways with exception of two holes where condos line the fairway and located way too close. Lots of long trips between green and next tee.Huge, undulated greens. We played for about $43 in the middle of July. Fees reach into the low hundreds during the winter season. $43 - 70 bout right.
All in all - very pleasurable
I really like the layout. The staff was extremely friendly and at a great price.
