This is a brand new course. The greens were days and true and fairways were hard and fast. Had three beginner golfers with me and they loved it I played from Tee box 2 and enjoyed it immensely. No real off course amenities at this time. But a great course for the cost here in southern Florida.
First time hope to return
New course, opened about a month ago.
Conditions were fine, all kinds of construction going on everywhere you look.
Good practice areas. No drinking water on the course, no opportunity to refill your water bottle,. Cart girl was available.
GPS on the carts, much needed, the Garmin watch doesn’t have the course
Got a reasonable golf now rate, Rack rate is high
Once it’s private, you’ll be sad you missed it
Stunning layout, fantastic condition.
But overpriced to say the least, $100 for a course that’s out of the way and has zero amenities. But the course itself makes it worthwhile, stellar standard and fun to play. Will be back ASAP
Will Play Again.
Overall, I enjoyed my first round at Wellen Park. It's brand new, so the fairways and greens are firm. The course is in very nice condition with green grass everywhere. The fairways are generous, but there are many lakes to contend with. The layout is good, with a few holes that are extreme doglegs. Right now, the amenities are primitive, but the very friendly staff made up for that. As it matures, the course will become more receptive to a good shot - but it will become more narrow as the housing construction continues. It's a good course and I will play there again.
Good course but with no club house price should be much lower.
Very much enjoyed the course. All housing is under construction and the club house is a trailer. Greens were fast and true. Price included a driving range, putting green, and chipping green. Staff was great!
If I can find a deal I will play again.
Hidden/new gem
Definitely one I’d recommend and will play again soon. A little thought to find - not on Apple Maps so use Google maps.
Fun course. Not crazy tough but a challenge especially if it’s wind. Could us a set of 6000 yard tees.
Still early, but nice course
Amenities not there yet. Port a potties and sell bottled water. But beverage cart was active and present. GPS is on carts.
Course will be really nice post construction around it. Beautifully maintained and manicured. Water hazards don't come in to play much - more scenic. Staff is excellent and very welcoming.
Negatives - There are a few holes where tees for next hole are behind the current hole. Seems rather dangerous and quite odd as golfers cross paths with each other. Also, tee boxes are marked with all blue markers and designated with roman numerals. Traditional colors of blue, white, red, etc. would be more helpful.
Other than that, a nice golf experience on a course that is sure to be popular.
Immature & it shows
The course is immature & it shows. Greens do not hold. Greens are really fast which is great. I did not care for the back 9. Three very short Par 4s. It is like they ran out of land. All in all, the course is in great shape but layout is nothing special.
