New Course - IS OK.
Fun to play a new course. Course condition was good - greens don’t hold as they are so new, but the layout is ‘OK’. Homes do encroach and it is too tight on some holes. Pity the poor homeowners on a couple of tee blocks where the tees are literally in their backyard a few feet away. Some goofy tee and hole layouts but overall a decent course which has just opened. Annual membership dues at $7500 plus $30 for a cart AND $12 to use the practice range daily? The latter practice range fee for members is egregious and wrong. A practice area fee for a member? What? Hello? Who is the ‘forward thinker’ who drafted this up and then all the others who Agreed With It. Anyway, good to have another course open in the area but will eventually be sold out - it is a bundled community so the annual membership availability probably won’t exist anyway in 2-3 years.
Empty the trash cans and clean and empty the port-o-potties
Pace of play is terrific played in a little less than 4 hrs. But please pick up and empty the trash cans. The portable toilets are full and smell terrible, clean them up.
Great course
The fairways are like greens and the greens are impressive like crushed velvet (super fast and tricky). As of now there aren't many people playing the course which provides a relaxed playing environment. The grounds are a bit hard and the golf carts are slow gas powered but other than that, this is a fantastic course!!!
Greens are well cared for...and roll good
Excellent course, watering keeps it green and lush. Greens are smooth and green! Sand traps, while numerous are fair with respect to getting out.
New Course Promising
Only open 6 weeks but shows good conditions and promising future. People very friendly and facilities still in start up mode.
Will play again next season when we are back.
New Course
Course has been open seven weeks. Fairways were in good shape for being new.. Greens running about 11-12. Played from Tee Position II, and thought is was fair at 6200yds. Plenty of trouble for errant shots, but what Course isn't? Overall, a great new Course that I recommend.

Course great, facilities in-process
This new course is in great shape, the amenities are still under construction. Fun to play, should be great soon.
Close to Perfection
This will be my 5th time playing Wellen Park. The course is getting better each time I play. Pace of play was very comfortable and the staff is always super accommodating. Dan the starter was friendly and informative and Kelley the cart attendant was beyond friendly. I hope to play this course many times this summer if the rates come down to something affordable for weekly play.
Less than 4 hour round
Played in under 4 hrs. Which is a rare accomplishment on any golf course around here!
Brand new course - still perfect
Wellen Park is a brand new course that should be at the top of your list for playing (just opened in February). The quality of the playing surfaces is very high and you can tell they didn’t cut corners when budgeting for building the course. The greens crew does an amazing job keeping the greens manicured to perfection - the greens play fast but give you a true read so as long as you keep your speed dialed in, you shouldn’t struggle with your putting too much. The course has 6 tee boxes so all handicaps should be able to challenge their game - I played the 2’s and got to play every club in my bag.
The only “negative” note I would make is that being a brand new course, the clubhouse and other typical amenities you see on golf courses haven’t been built yet. With that said, they do still have a pro shop set up in a temporary building where you can buy any equipment or food/drink you need for your round. The practice area is sick - it’s a range set up to have you hitting into a pond with floating practice greens. The putting and chipping greens are kept in great condition.
NOTE: Refer to the website for directions to the course. I tried to use Apple Maps to get there but the course is so new that the address isn’t in the Map database yet.
Interesting course
First time playing here, and after reading other reviews, I agree the greens are hard to hold, and challenging. Overall the course is in excellent condition, but if you are distracted by construction vehicles and noise, this one is not for you right now.. My guess that in 2-3 years this will be a top choice course for all level of players. Currently there aren't any amenities due to the course just starting, but again, you're there to play golf.
Great up and coming course
Great course, will be curious what it looks like in a couple of years when all the development around it is finished. Right now it is a great course with no real amenities other than a beverage cart. Staff was great, the driving range (included in the price) is great, you hit floating balls at targets in the water, and the putting green is nice as well. I didn't see a chipping green but other than that it is a top notch course that will get better with age.
New Course very good shape
Really liked the course
This course will be a favorite in the area.
Was very difficult to find need more signs to avoid confusion and multiple phone calls on directions
Lots of construction everywhere
Hope it does not go private too soon.
First time
Turf everywhere was very nice! Greens are too hard, but probably because they are new.
Wide landing areas are appreciated.by this #3 tee player. Greens are fast and undulating-fun!
First year course keep that in mind
First of all, I like to say that those three women in the pro shop were so very nice outstanding that was Marcy, Jennifer, and Halle they made me feel like they really appreciated my business and started my around in the right way. Very professional, second the starter Tim is also very good and helpful. Kudos to him the course as I said is new so the greens are very hard and less you can spin a bowl don’t go for the pan. if you played the right, tees hhere you will enjoy this course. I definitely recommend it and thanks again to those three lovely ladies.
