Bobby Jones Golf Club - Championship Course

Recently redone. Greens and fairways in great condition. Very forgiving track.

Was pleasantly surprised in the overall condition and experience‘greens are in VG condition but boring as very little undulations but fun experience!

Friendly staff, nice layout, great pace of play - under 4 hours. No discounts for Florida residents or Sarasota County residents which is disappointing.

The fairways and greens were in great shape and I found the personnel friendly. The major complaint being the course is basically unmarked, very few if any 200, 150, and 100 yard markers. Yardage marked on sprinkler heads are inaccurate Golf yardage apps are useless. Starter said to download yardage app with QR code on golf cart but the QR print was faded and unreadable on both our carts. Vast improvement on newly designed course from 3 years ago but this is not a $100 course, even during a Florida winter!

Although it was a $100 bill, it is worth the extra $40 over the other public courses in the area, where the conditions are egregious.

Actual name is Bobby Jones Golf Club with several tee boxes available. Course was completely re-constructed over the past 3 years and recently re-opened. it's an open, wide fairway course with very large greens in great shape!

I use to play this course often when it was the old Bobby Jones golf course with the American

golf course and the British golf course. While it wasn't the best course it was somewhat challenging and affordable. I only played nine holes and was not impressed. The people who reconfigured this new golf course came in and took out allot of the trees , bulldozed all the buildings and put in more sand traps. They erased the heart of this course and took away all the challenges while making it less affordable.The Sarasota politicians messed this course up big time. Thanks for nothing.

The putting green is a joke and the course is like playing in a cow pasture. The price to play is doubled. In short there are alot of nicer golf courses to play and some for less money.

Very straightforward course. Not much imagination. Hard as rock tee boxes, but beautifully manicured. Greens were perfect (the highlight of the round). Cart paths need work.Having the new layout communicated to GPS rangefinders would help. The app is cumbersome.

The pace of play was a little slow, around 4 and half hours.

Rangers did nothing to speed up play of 2 groups in front of us. They were drinking and mixing in a golf shot now and then. Beer girl was hanging with these guys pretty regular. Guess these guys were big tippers thinking beer girl liked them. Anyway made it hard to get into any rhythm.

This was our 2nd time playing at the Bobby Jones Ross course. The course has a nice layout and is well kept. The pace of play was reasonable . Overall it’s a very nice course and a decent value for your money !

The greens were perfect, the traps were good. I expected a lot more for the new course design and I think they fell short., flat and wide open. They could have tightened the holes up for less maintenance and added difficulty. Some workers need a lesson in customer service. Price is a little high.

Love to see the new layout and how well the condition s have improved since the redesign. Staff in pro shop, starter and cart/drop off area were very friendly and professional.

Two things killed the experience; slow play had us waiting every single hole, as we finished #15 there was a 2some teeing off, a foursome between us and a foursome on the green. And a foursome on #17 tee waiting for someone who just cleared. A ranger could solve that!! Also, $10 for about 25 range balls from an automated machine is a bit silly.

Staff is very friendly. Pace of Play is with 5:30 hours in the morning realy slow.

Course is nothing exeptional and for 99 Dollar overpriced

Played early AM, our tee time was 7:45 and we didn’t go off until 7:55. It certainly gets a lot of play, they are certainly organized and try to keep folks moving. We got our round in 4:15 but there were plenty of hit and wait moments. They have tee times spaced at 7 minutes which is just too close. The course is fairly wide open so most errant shots can be still found and played without a penalty.

Greens were fantastic the sand in traps was mica sand so it was easy to get out of them.

Staff couldn’t have been nicer which offset any other issues.
