Bobby Jones Golf Club - Championship Course

Should have called first. Greens had been recently aerated and were covered with sand as well. Can’t do much about the standing water from the thunderstorms the night before but I find it a bit unfair to charge $80 per round when the greens are practically unplayable from aeration and sand. I’m all for maintenance of the property but management should either post notice of greens aerations or discount the green fees. Not a good experience.

Course has no drainage.

Cart paths are a mess.

No ranger to patrol pace of play.

first time playing this course fairways are in excellent condition. The greens are fast smooth and an excellent condition as well. Bunkers have good sand highly recommend playing it.

The course does not have a clubhouse. Mobile home being used as a clubhouse. It was a rainy morning and the course did not drain . Tee boxes were soft and squishy. Cart paths were crap..crushed stone and deep puddles, muddy. Paid $68 through Golf now. Definitely not worth it. Would give it another chance under dry conditions and cheaper fees.

No signs of progress on the clubhouse

The digital approach or forcing golfers to use your app instead of listing the course with Garmin or other watch / GPS products is a real drawback

Seemingly so simple

I find using my phone cumbersome

Have to walk with it in my pocket or take readings from cart alone

PLEASE rethink this aspect of your digital strategy

I won’t rush back until you do and suspect others would appreciate the Garmin feature

Overall the staff was very nice and polite. My first opinion when walking in was very good. Proshop staff and starter were very friendly and helpful. The only problem is this is a muni course and no one really knows golf etiquette there like other private courses. I was a single playing behind a twosome. Literally had to wait 5-7 min between shots even when I would drive up to the sam Tee box they were on I was not asked to joint them or go play through them.

Really my only major complaint. Just know what you are signing up for when you go. Better to have a foursome go and play versus a single golfer.

Great place the greens are excellent wide open not too much trouble to get into there. This is my second year playing this course I'll probably play it next year when I come down again it's worthwhile.

Great layout

This course is in excellent condition and offers a great golfing experience. Great layout. The greens are fast and well-maintained, and the entire course is well-manicured.

The staff is always friendly and attentive, and Tyler Beasley, the professional, is an excellent instructor. He is knowledgeable and provides valuable instruction to players of all skill levels, From beginners and children, to those working on long-drive power. .

The practice area is worth making the trip itself. It is spacious and well laid out, with a big driving range, and short game pitching areas to greens with bunkers. There’s also a large putting green. Overall, this is probably the best practice facility in the Sarasota area.

Do like theis course. Unfortunately, we played behind some incredibly slow groups. No marshal on the course at pur time slot. It appeared there were 4 holes unoccupied in front of slow groups.

Still enjoy this couse and will come back.

Over a 5 hour round. Several times 3 groups on the green or waiting to tee off.

Fun classic Donald Ross course. Great greens. Will be back.
