About
Peacock Gap Golf Club extends along the shores of San Pablo Bay, but it sits inland enough to avoid the fogginess of the coast and enjoy consistently sunny weather throughout the year. The course's layout has undergone many renovations over the years that have brought it to its current playability, including a new drainage system, new tee boxes, a reshaping of five of the greens, and relocation of bunkers. The golf course kept the classic features of its original layout though, such as the inviting fairways that still provide a challenge and the tricky greens that deceptively extend past where the player thinks they end. In addition to the course, Peacock Gap has also improved their practice facilities over the years. There is an all-grass driving range, two large practice greens, and a chipping green.

I usually enjoy this course but the course maintenance lately has taken a turn for the worse. They are simply not mowing the course enough any many times we were frustrated trying to find our ball in the first cut that was inundated with flowers.
And then the clouds broke...
A fine setting and an enjoyable course Pace of play was very good as were course conditions. Perhaps not the most challenging, but, always a good relaxing round.
Fun but slow
Peacock gap is one of the few public courses in Marin so expect it to be a long round. Lots of bottlenecks around the Par 3s, typically we were waiting for one group to finish on the green before the foursome in front of us could even tee off. 18 holes took over 5.5 hours. The greens were just punched so not faulting them there (and the app told us that). Overall the course was in good condition, if a little overgrown (white flowers dotted the fairways and made it tough to find your ball, I literally lost a center cut drive in fairway on a Par 5). Tough bunker placements and steep edges when you are in them makes approach shots very meaningful.
Great conditions
I am really impressed with how much the drainage has improved on this course in the last few years. After several weeks of good rainfall the course was still in excellent condition and greens were fantastic!
Course was in decent shape considering all the rain. There was flooding still, so no carts were available. Easy course to walk though
