San Ramon is a good course to play
San Ramon is a good course to play.
Some holes are not easy but generally the course is moderately difficult.
The layout is good with some fun holes that are challenging.
The weather was wonderful although it can be very hot in the summer.
Power cart policy
As a senior golfer and not able to walk the course I was denied a power cart because 2 carts were already signed out for my tee time when I checked in at the pro shop 1 hour prior to my tee time. Due to Covid19 policy all power carts are single rider unless from the same household. Other courses allow more than 2 carts per tee time.
San Ramon Golf Course needs to change its policy.
Thank you for playing San Ramon. This policy is in place to ensure we have enough carts throughout the day. We are sorry this impacted your day. We hope you will try us again sometime in the future.
Hit and miss
Been playing here probably the last year every other Friday courses and fair condition with sand in the traps and the greens roll fairly true they just recently aerated and probably another week before their all good. Ceremony does usually have a problem with the pace of play a lot of seniors and they are slow
Thank you for leaving a review. Our course is in great condition since our course maintenance. Hope to see you out here again soon!
Walk - no exceptions!!!
I will never book another 4-some, My group is 4 seniors ( all over 70). One of my friends was told he could not use a cart as only 2 carts were allowed per group. This is ridiculous! If ypu cannot afford to have enough carts for everyone, maybe you should close.
Thank you for playing San Ramon. Our policy is two carts per group to make sure we have enough carts for as many groups as possible.
Thank you for the 4-star review!
Not a bad place but needs work
I've golfed here a handful of times, and for me the only time it's worth it is if you can get a cheap hot deal on golfnow. Otherwise I don't really think the course quality and design warrants charging the regular price. Easy to walk.
Thank you for leaving a review. We hope you will come again soon for a better experience.
Course in very good condition
My first game in about a year, worried about CoVid-19. Bur concerns went away once I went inside the clubhouse as everyone was wearing a mask and self distancing. A few tee boxes were a bit over watered and soft. Fairways were generally in good condition; no GUR that I’ve seen. Greens can be improved, but were very playable. 9th green a pair of short tire marks, probably from greenskeeper’s mower. The one trap thai I went into had real sand! Good course layout, very flat. Senior pricing very reasonable; I’ll definitely play the course again!
Thank you for leaving a review. We are doing everything we can to aide in the slowing of COVID-19. We will continue to do so. Please come see us again soon!
Worth the drive from oakland
Great to play a flat challenging course for a great value.
Dont miss the fairway here, the rough isn't that deep but its dense.
Hit more fairways! Thank you for coming out to play our course!
Thank you for the 4-star review!
Thank you for the review. We hope upon your next visit, we may earn those last two stars!
course conditions
The course was in good condition. The greens were punched a week or so ago but was in good shape..
Thank you for the 5-star review! The course is in great shape! Hope to see you out here again soon!
Thank you for the 4-star review. We had a successful aeriation and the course is in great shape!
Green Aerification
All courses should always notify aerification of greens, before they make a tee time !
San Ramon did not advertise aerification of greens.
Thank you for leaving a review. I would like to discuss this with you further. Please send me an email at adow@golfsanramon.com. Looking forward to your response.
Horrible Experience
I was not informed by Golfnow customer service with whom I booked the tee time, that they just sanded the green the previous day. Also, it was not made clear that the tee time fee was for walking and I had to pay extra for the cart. The course is in awful, dried condition.
GolfNow should refund me or give me a voucher for use later.

Fun course, greens aerated without notice
I really enjoyed the round but I had to play the front 9 twice because the back 9 was being aerated. The front had been sanded the previous day and had I known this I wouldn't have booked the tee time. This fact was not listed on Golfnow.com which was annoying.

Great day at San Ramon GC
It has been quite awhile since I last played San Ramon GC. I was uncertain what to expect with the COVID-19 protocols but Check in was fast and well organized. Patrons all wore masks and were socially distancing without being reminded The range was pretty busy but we were able to find several spots to warm up. The short game area was also open and I. Good shape.
The walk up snack window was open for take out drinks and hot food The hot dog was awesome.
We found the tee boxes to be in generally good shape. The Par 3’s probably needed some divot mix to repair but with COVID, understandably absent Pace I’d play was excellent we kept up with the group ahead of us and no one was immediately behind us.
The green on #9 was disappointing. Not sure what happened but the green had been damaged by tires or a mower scraping the entire width of the green. A short approached forced you to putt across this damage. There was also quite a bit of goose poop littering the green. A bit disappointing for San Ramon’s signature hole.
All in all, it was a great day out in the fresh air. The green fees are reasonable and represents a good value. I especially appreciated the senior rate. Thank you!
Nice Course
Played from the white tees and still had plenty of challenge. My wife played the reds and after 7 or 8 moved to the silver. Reds were not much shorter than the whites. Course was in much better condition than the first time I played (1 year ago). And the pace was much better too (finished in just under 4.5 hours). I like the layout and some of water features make it interesting and challenging. Greens ran true and were decent speed. Only issue we had was the cart was running out of juice and we couldn’t get anyone to answer. I asked the group behind if they knew a different number to try but they had the same one. They did get through though and someone came out with a new cart so we made it to the finish without carrying the bags!
Thank you for the 5-star review!
