Horrible Experience
I was not informed by Golfnow customer service with whom I booked the tee time, that they just sanded the green the previous day. Also, it was not made clear that the tee time fee was for walking and I had to pay extra for the cart. The course is in awful, dried condition.
GolfNow should refund me or give me a voucher for use later.
Fun course, greens aerated without notice
I really enjoyed the round but I had to play the front 9 twice because the back 9 was being aerated. The front had been sanded the previous day and had I known this I wouldn't have booked the tee time. This fact was not listed on Golfnow.com which was annoying.

Great day at San Ramon GC
It has been quite awhile since I last played San Ramon GC. I was uncertain what to expect with the COVID-19 protocols but Check in was fast and well organized. Patrons all wore masks and were socially distancing without being reminded The range was pretty busy but we were able to find several spots to warm up. The short game area was also open and I. Good shape.
The walk up snack window was open for take out drinks and hot food The hot dog was awesome.
We found the tee boxes to be in generally good shape. The Par 3’s probably needed some divot mix to repair but with COVID, understandably absent Pace I’d play was excellent we kept up with the group ahead of us and no one was immediately behind us.
The green on #9 was disappointing. Not sure what happened but the green had been damaged by tires or a mower scraping the entire width of the green. A short approached forced you to putt across this damage. There was also quite a bit of goose poop littering the green. A bit disappointing for San Ramon’s signature hole.
All in all, it was a great day out in the fresh air. The green fees are reasonable and represents a good value. I especially appreciated the senior rate. Thank you!
Nice Course
Played from the white tees and still had plenty of challenge. My wife played the reds and after 7 or 8 moved to the silver. Reds were not much shorter than the whites. Course was in much better condition than the first time I played (1 year ago). And the pace was much better too (finished in just under 4.5 hours). I like the layout and some of water features make it interesting and challenging. Greens ran true and were decent speed. Only issue we had was the cart was running out of juice and we couldn’t get anyone to answer. I asked the group behind if they knew a different number to try but they had the same one. They did get through though and someone came out with a new cart so we made it to the finish without carrying the bags!
worth doing
A fairly flat course. Good for walking.Seems easier then it is for a first timer like me. Once you know where to aim the ball I am sure you will have a lower score then I did! Fairways and tee boxes in good shape. Bunkers have real sand! Some of the greens are smallish. One or two have "issues". The main thing I was surprised about was that the signature 9th green (the island in the pictures) was in TERRIBLE condition. Oil stains all over it, goose poop all over it and two long horizontal browned gouges running a large part of the length. Other then that would definetely go back if I lived closer. People on the course were very pleasant and let us play through (2 in a cart vs. 4 walkers). Staff friendly and all working hard. Driving range is mats. Good condition putting greens too.
Great employees I ever meet very respectful accommodating and best of all very friendly
Enjoyed playing each hole
The course and greens were in great condition. The greens though was somewhat slow, putts were in coming short. I was thinking of the soot could be the cause. I walked the course - walking to each hole can be long even though the course presents itself flat. Each hole has its own interesting features which made the play fun. I would definitely come back.
Thank you for coming out to play San Ramon. We see that this is your first time here! We hope this won't be your last either!
Above average course with friendly staff
Tee time was on time. Had to wait on a few holes but not too long. 4.5 hour round. Staff was very friendly. Left my wallet in the golf cart and they called me right away to let me know.
Thank you for the 5-star review!
Thank you for the 3-star review. We hope upon your next visit, we may earn those last two stars!
Nice.
Haven’t played here in 10 years. It’s in great shape now!!! Will defintely be back.
Good course
San Ramon is a fun course that has challenging holes that are not too difficult.
The layout is good although the pace of play was slow.
It is good value and the people are very nice.
