Great updates!
Greens are still being mended with a number of temporary greens present but all new golf carts and great repairs to some areas of the course (new bridge between holes 8 and 9).
Greens need a little more time
Charlie Yates is my home course. There is nothing better than sneaking out for a quick round or range session. Unfortunately after closing for the past month, the greens still need a little time to heal and the course has been significantly shortened with some fairway pin locations to allow for that.
My Go-To for Practice and Practice Rounds
This executive 9 is always playable, enjoyable to walk, and challenging enough to be a great tune-up. Plus, there's a turf driving range, putting green, and chipping green to fine-tune your game.
Course in repair
They are repairing several holes so beware. 10.00 is all they can charge due to course conditions... you are better off going somewhere else right now.

Happy to see they closed for a few weeks
Happy to see they closed the course for a few weeks to fix the greens. It’s was horrible. Can’t wait to see the improvements they made when they open back up on September 19th

Neighborhood gem
I have been going to this course for over a decade and find the course conditions good enough to keep going back. The greens fees are reasonable and the driving range allows hitting off of natural grass most times of the year. The staff are always friendly and golfers are laid back and open to letting you play through and even join their groups. Charlie Yates is a neighborhood gem and glad to have them within 20 minutes of my home.
The course is not being cared for.
This looks bad on East Lake to have CY in this condition.

Price increase
Considering the price increase and increase in business you would think the course would be in better shape. Also the golf cart still had trash in it , which makes me think it was not Covid-cleaned before we used it.

Can’t believe this
Charlie Yates should be ashamed how they let the greens and fairway go down like this. This is a part of East lake community. They need to close down and repair course. How can anyone give this course a good rating. I’m embarrassed to even write such a negative review of this place... Charlie Yates you should be ashamed of this course and the way you let this great course go down. Please everyone stay away and make them repair the course. We deserve better.!!!!

What happened to the greens?
Played about a month ago and while the greens were a ‘fuzzy’ and slow they were not like what we had today. Simply, horrible. Tee boxes have always been bad. Given the course there aren’t really any fairway conditions to comment on. Balls out of the ball machine at the range were caked with dirt and grass so clearly their cleaning process is non existent.
Pace of play: horrible. Two some in front of us thought it was ok to hit 2-3 balls a pice of the tee than hunt for lost balls. I know this is a public course but there are weigh better options in Atlanta for about the same price.
Advice: don’t waste you $$.

Would not recommend
Tee boxes and greens looked like no one had done anything besides cutting. Greens were the worst I’ve played in years (and I’m a regular of less expensive courses). They had a small amount of rain and the entire course was flooded the entire round, even in the mid day sun.

Greens
The greens were in the worst shape I’ve ever seen. Extremely burnt out and pitch marks everywhere. I tried to fix 3-4 every hole, but they were brutal.
The pace of play was horrible as well. Too many foursomes in front of our twosome, creating a long wait on each hole.
Overall, the course is a nice design and well laid out. It’s would be a really fun track at a great value if they could fix the greens and pace of play.

Decent course, awful greens.
The course is fine. It's pretty fun to play. But, the greens have gotten progressively worse over the last month. Right now a lot of them have large dead or dirt spots. More or less all over. It's hard to put when the greens look like the surface of the moon.

save your money unless you want to just want to repair ball marks on the greens...
CY needs to work on the greens, very disappointing.
Clubhouse said there were no carts available but yet a twosome in my group and a foursome behind us had carts. Really don't mind walking but I wish I had known and reserved another course.
Save your money for range balls instead.
