Poorly maintained greens.
The greens were in bad shape. Seems like they had not been maintained in a while.

When?? When will they fix the greens?
Look, I love Charlie Yates and I think the staff is great but honestly when will the greens be fixed? They closed down lost of the spring to suupposivily fix the greens and the just randomly reopened with the greens o worse condition than before. Who is in charge of this? Great local course but now it’s just got to trash..

Not bad for the price
Course was fine for the most part, the greens though were absolutely putrid. Fix the greens and you’ve got a super solid 9 holer.

Beautiful setting in-town atlanta
Had a nice time playing here with nit too many people around. The course layout is interesting and there’s some interesting elevation. The last hole green was under construction and not playable. There isn’t really a green there and this should be factored into the price as the play is not totally normal with this.
Leave Your Driver in the Bag!!!
Wonderful course!!! Particularly holes 6-9 had amazing layout tee to pin! Driver not needed much on this course if iron/wedge game is accurate!
Great updates!
Greens are still being mended with a number of temporary greens present but all new golf carts and great repairs to some areas of the course (new bridge between holes 8 and 9).
Greens need a little more time
Charlie Yates is my home course. There is nothing better than sneaking out for a quick round or range session. Unfortunately after closing for the past month, the greens still need a little time to heal and the course has been significantly shortened with some fairway pin locations to allow for that.

My Go-To for Practice and Practice Rounds
This executive 9 is always playable, enjoyable to walk, and challenging enough to be a great tune-up. Plus, there's a turf driving range, putting green, and chipping green to fine-tune your game.
Course in repair
They are repairing several holes so beware. 10.00 is all they can charge due to course conditions... you are better off going somewhere else right now.

Happy to see they closed for a few weeks
Happy to see they closed the course for a few weeks to fix the greens. It’s was horrible. Can’t wait to see the improvements they made when they open back up on September 19th

Neighborhood gem
I have been going to this course for over a decade and find the course conditions good enough to keep going back. The greens fees are reasonable and the driving range allows hitting off of natural grass most times of the year. The staff are always friendly and golfers are laid back and open to letting you play through and even join their groups. Charlie Yates is a neighborhood gem and glad to have them within 20 minutes of my home.
The course is not being cared for.
This looks bad on East Lake to have CY in this condition.
