Great Day at Sugar Creek
It is a fun course and great practice for beginners. If you have a bad lie outside of the fairway you will not find your ball because of the amount of fallen leaves and twigs. The staff was friendly.
Surprising return to Sugar Creek
Excellent conditions for fairways and greens and most sand traps. Only some bare spots around cart paths need attention. If you haven't played this course recently, it's worth the trip to see how much it has improved.
Good condition
This course is a great layout. It is actually in fairly good condition. All of the greens were good. The down spot are the tee boxes. About half of them need work. The fairways were good, with only a couple in bad shape from previous rain and flooding.
Good Conditions
This course is looking good. Fairways have grass. The greens look good and rolling ok. Not your country club but a nice place to play. They also have impossible burgers at the restaurant.
Rough
The grass was extremely dry and tough to make good swings. The tee boxes were in decent shape. The rough was extremely rough and overgrown. It was almost impossible to find a ball in the tall grass. I wouldn’t play this course again as there are plenty of other courses that are better quality. There was 3 carts waiting at every hole to play. Only thing that made the day great was meeting other golfers on the course. Great people and conversations but this course needs major work before I return.
Course in great shape
Fairways are lush green, well manicured and Greens rolled true. Rough was a bit too high, but probably because of a lot of rain for the past 10 days.
Always like the layout, but kudos to the greens keeper and superintendent for excellence course maintenance.
What a gem!
Wow! Conditions were amazing. Best condition greens I've seen in both public or private courses. Crew really takes immaculate care from tee boxes to greens. Not a long course, but fairways are tight and required great placement. Challenging for sure. Greens rolled true and firm. Pace of play however was at a snails pave, granted every group we encountered was courteous and allowed us to play through ( 5 groups in all ), but the overall pace was unbearably slow. 5 hr round for a twosome on a Tuesday morning , can't imagine having to play on a weekend. Next time, will try to get 1st tee time of the day.
Mr Davis
Course was wet, fairways and bunkers.
Greens were good. Golf course needs a lot of work.. I will not play there again.
You get what you pay for.
Only came here for to try a new course since it had a hot deal and it’s just not in the best shape. Greens aren’t bad but fairways are uneven, cart paths are terrible and i my cart lagged for 30 seconds every time i hit the gas petal. It would take a lot of improvements for me to come back.
Could be better.
The pace of play was really bad. First 9 took my group (of 4) 3 hours and 10 minutes, mainly because we sat around waiting for groups ahead to clear out for so long, but it wasn't the leading groups fault neither, since they themselves were waiting on groups ahead of them. This is entirely how many groups sent out the groups. My group starting time was 9:40, but we could not tee off until 9:50+.
It rained the night before, so general wetness of the course couldn't be helped. Fairway was good, teebox could use better leveling job but it was passable, but green was rough. Lot of places where weed is growing out and changes putt direction, hole cups were absolute trash, and acts like a ramp (edges of hole cup was worn out so much if ball comes at it fast enough, it just skips through it).
