Literally the worst corse I have ever played
Bunkers looked like they haven't been touched in years
too much to list
I will never play here again
Terrible Course!!! Please save your $.
When we got to the course they said they were not ready for us and we waited almost 45 minutes to take the first tee. The fairways had big piles of sticks and trash in the middle and look like it had been at least a couple weeks since they were last cut. We lost balls in the middle of multiple fairways.... The tee boxes had grass that was taller than the ball on the tee and the greens had uncut sections that had grass over the top of the ball. Some tee boxes didn't have a single marker on them. I moved a couple that were there just to look and what was enderneath was almost dirt. They hadn't moved in forever. If you are thinking about playing this course then please just stay at home and play in your front yard. I almost forgot to mention that our cart had no park break so we had to have a car pull up in front / behind us every time we stopped to keep the cart from rolling down the hills. It was an utter disaster from the moment we pulled in until we left. Please don't waste your time.
Has been and still is a tennis facility!
From the very begininning, my not my playing partners carts had a parking brake. Tough to stop them and very dangerous.
The layout of the course is challenging because it's very tight and you also have holes that you have to layup and cross water or hazards. On the front nine the fairway was long and the greens didn't have much grass at all. The tees were so hard you couldn't get your peg in the ground all the way. Then you turn to the back nine and from the 14th to the 17th we lost balls in the fairway. You had to step on the ball to find it. They hadn't been cut in a week or more. None of the bunkers were groomed on the entire course, and they didn't appear to have actual sand in the bunkers!
The people inside were nice and they took care of me, but no one is taking care of the golf course. If you're just jonesin to play, go for it, but don't expect much.
It has been and still is a great tennis facility. Can't wait for the tournament this summer, but won't play the golf course again!
Don't waste precious hours of your life!
Worst course I have ever played. Barely could stick a tee in the tee boxes, fairways were awful and hadn't been cut in several weeks. The greens were like putting on hardwood floors with bare spots everywhere. Wouldn't recommend this course to anyone, now if they charged 5 dollars a round, then maybe its worth it. Not for $23, terrible value.
Horrible Experience
This course has not been taken care of. The greens and fairways haven't been cut in years. It was hard finding your ball in middle of fairway. It was like playing plinko when trying to putt.
Stay away!
Tee boxs and greens had not been cut in weeks. There is no fairway cut. There was trash on the course. My golf cart died after the first hole. I packed everything up and walked back to the clubhouse and got a refund. They did not seemed surprised that I wanted my money back. When I asked when the last time the grass was cut I was told he didn't know.
Avoid Avoid Avoid !!!!!!
Avoid this place like the plague. The place has completely broken down and its very sad.
Everything is terrible,
The fairways are horrible.
The greens? only a hungry goat a appreciate them. Dead or overgrown.
Bunkers? Just mudpits.
They also do not have enough carts, and the few that are operational have issues, bad brakes, running out of power halfway through the 1st nine etc.
What a disaster!!
Sugarcreek
The golf course was in terrible condition
The tee boxes were bare the greens putting surface was like the fairways
Clumps of weeds were everywhere
I see progress
Several months ago, I wrote a horrible review of this course. I returned today and thought it would only be fair to update my review. The course still has a long way to go. For example, the greens are still in pretty bad shape, there is little or no sand in the sand traps and most tee boxes are pretty bare. However, in general, the course conditions are so much better than the last time I visited this course. There is actually grass in the fairway and it is mowed. The weeds are at a minimum. Unlike my last visit where I had to leave, the course was playable and actually, somewhat enjoyable. They are trying and they are improving at Sugar Creek. They deserve credit for that.
I have been coming here for the past two years. The course and the grounds are improving. I saw previous post about this course and it seems that management has taken the criticism and is trying to improve..
Weekly play
I have played sugercreek golf course for the last two years, I have seen the course in great shape and have seen it at its worse. Needs to be on the same level as mystery valley. Needs work.
Sugar Creek Golf Course
Front nine closed so we played the back twice. Greens could definitely use work. So I guess the course is under repair at this time. Great for the price to get swings in.
Sugar Creek is dead without DeKalb County paying lots to keep open.
You know you are at Sugar Creek when you see the practice putting green. Don't let the largest clubhouse in the area fool you! This is the worst course and condition in Atlanta. I try to play here once a year. But no more. The front nine is closed, but the only way you know is to be told right before your round. Don't drive to this course. You are warned!
The Course Greens were in horrible condition
The greens on all nine holes were in horrible condition and not knowing the front side greens were not playable should be known prior to the payment process has begun. I certainly would not have gone to this course. The putting green is also in a horrible state.
Don't do it
Front nine closed, and made to play back nine twice. The greens were bad and was quite evident from the practice green. Pace of play because when coming back, you are now running into those just beginning. If you play this course, you can't take it seriously.
Still the Same ol SugarCreek
Cheap price = Cheap experience.
This course is only worth it to a new golfer who has no experience and just needs a random round to "swing some sticks"with
Could be better
This course could and should be so much better than it is, when you drive into the parking lot the clubhouse is nice, they have a nice tennis facility, they have a nice driving range, but the golf course is so unbelievable bad, the front nine should be shut down completely and redone, the back nine is not much better but it is playable. Not even worth the $10 golf now amount that we paid, could be a very nice home golf course, so please please fix the greens, cut the fairways.
