Fun Muni
The Patch is fun. More challenging than you might think. Lots of elevation change and sloped greens. The staff is friendly and the cost is super affordable.
Many of the tee boxes are in bad shape and need to be closed for reseeding. Some of the fairways are beat up as well. The greens are good and roll true. However, the speed of them is not consistent.
I was disappointed with a 2pm tee time on Saturday and the course made us turn in our carts at 5:30. Most around here do not call in carts nearly that early. We had to walk the final 4 holes. I feel a partial refund should be given. And since my tee time was made through GolfPass, that’s where the refund should come from. This system needs to fully understand their member courses so they can set expectations with the customer.
Need improving
I play this course about 4 time a week, it's my practice course. Over the years they have put in alot of effort and money into the course, my hat off to all of there hard work.
The problem I have is the driving range and some of the tee box are really bad, down right awful and is in serious need to be totally redone. They have a class from Augusta Tech teaching people to how to take care and work on golf course. See if they can get them to work on the Patch tee box and driving range.
Lastly, the Chipping area is TOTALLY RIDICULOUS, MAKE NO SENSE AT ALL, the grass is suppose to be as the putting green.
You can't chipping on a inch grass and get a true rolled out. It's truly a wasted area.
I really do enjoy the golf course but some area need to be really improved.
Good pace
Enjoy the course as usual. Not crowded, didn't feel I had to keep a pace.
Augusta municipal
Course was fine for the money. Staff is not polite
Staff
The staff was extremely courteous and the course was in good shape
A real DUMP
i've been playing golf for 40 years. This is the worst course i've ever seen. fairways full of weeds (overgrown).Greens half DEAD. teeboxs have no grass on them.. A blind man wouldn't play this course.
I have fun
I have fun almost no matter the course condition. I do feel it was a little over priced for the condition to the course. In some places, great, then you get to the next tee box and it looks like they didn’t care about it’s maintenance.
I would play here again just because I believe in second chances, but It would not be my very first choice
Great Golfing Experience
The greens ran slower than normal but the overall value for the money was exceptional. Definitely will try and play here again.
Pleasant Surprise
Golfers that have lived in the Augusta area for more than a decade or so are likely familiar with the less than stellar reputation of Augusta Municipal Golf Course (affectionately or perhaps not so affectionately known by locals as "The Patch"). In fact, that reputation had kept me away for the past 13 years until yesterday. What a pleasant surprise my buddy Jeff and I encountered. Other than the less than friendly man at the cash register, we had a very good experience. The course was well maintained, especially the greens and bunkers. And it was a fun course to play. As a twosome, we finished our round in less than 3 hours. Yes, the greens are definitely small and can be challenging to hold for 25 handicappers like myself, but that just helps you sharpen your short game. Kudos to the staff at AMGC. We'll be back soon!
Great Value
This is a great place to work on your game. The cost is economical. The people are great. The course is is decent shape. Depending on work, I play The Patch almost once a week.
