Pleasantly surprised
I wasn’t sure what to expect given older negative reviews but gave the course a chance after seeing many recent positive reviews. Glad I did. Here’s my take as a low handicapper. The greens are great as advertised. Mostly flat with a few undulating surfaces. Greens were rolling probably 9. They were a little firm; I saw very few ball marks but the greens were holding. If I didn’t know better, I’d say these were new greens altogether. Bunkers were maintained and the rye on the tees was lush. Fairways were firm and fast. I average 260 off the tee but was hitting some over 300. A few did have dirt/bare spots, owing to the firm and fast nature. The course had some tight holes but it wasn’t as narrow as I had envisioned. It’s also not long. Only about 6400 yards from the tips. No. 15 was playing as a par 4 instead as a par 5. Very friendly staff. Shop and clubhouse were no frills. I was able to play as a single and finished in 3 hours despite going at a leisurely pace. I was very pleasantly surprised and would play here again if the opportunity arose.
Good Times at Pointe South
Fun layout and pace of play was great on a weekday morning. The course is shaping up nicely for Spring and the greens are rolling true. Definitely recommend checking out Pointe South at your next opportunity!
Out of town guy
Out of town guy Great people in the clubhouse. Friendly people on the tea boxes that were playing in front of us. For coming out of the winter into spring fairways in good very good shape greens very good condition. All around experience great
Very Nice Course. Worth the drive and money.
I had not played this course in over 40 year and was very pleasantly surprised. Overall, the course is very good. Fairways a bit spotty in places, but the greens were in fine shape and putted very well. I would definitely go back in the future.
Played great
Friendly staff, nice course, greens are in good shape but the fairways need some work! There are some uneven areas and bare spots that would make play much better if they were repaired.
Point South GC
Regular course I play. Conditions have been improving for the a couple of years now. Greens are really nice for this time of the year. They have redone a few tee boxes and generally are good. Only issue with the course is a few fairways, hopefully they can get some more grass in the spring-summer since there are some bare areas. Good solid course to play.
Good fun course
As always a fun course to play, great for the cost.
Super fun
One of the most fun courses in Augusta. Great staff and the course if rapidly improving.
fun course to play
I always enjoy playing this course. It has a lot of interesting holes to play but is not overly difficult. The conditions are steadily improving and is a great value!

Agree completely with this rating. I played it on 3/7 and had the same experience. Greens were really good, too.
