About
Originally opened in 1992, Lane Creek Golf Club changed ownership in 2006 when it also underwent a major renovation that included redesigning all of the greens and bunkers. The drainage and irrigation systems were improved as well. The lightning fast greens will test even the best golfers and they are always excellently maintained, as are the immaculately manicured fairways. In addition to reshaping the old bunkers, new ones were added to make the golf course more challenging. There are a variety of elevation changes throughout ranging from subtle to dramatic, which adds another level of difficulty to the layout. It is a tough but fair course. Lane Creek Golf Club is a favorite among locals and it is considered one of the best public golf courses in the Athens area.

Course was in good shape, the greens are excellent. Pace of play was slow but overall good experience.
very enjoyable course with some very challenging hole
this course is usually in very good shape, the staff is very friendly and helpful, some challenging holes and some easy holes, but the pace of play is slow maybe because they allow 5 somesums.
Course is in great shape
Enjoyed playing the course again. Several changes have been made to improved the course since the last time I played here many years go. I plan on coming back to play here again soon.

Great day one 5some slowed us down had to skip around

Gave one 4 star for course condition, and it was just because the greens were slow. I later found out that they usually roll great, but we played the day after it rained and it is getting close to off season anyway.
Great Day of Golf
One of my favorite courses that I have gotten to play. Very fun layout with some challenging holes without being overly difficult. Definitely would like to play it again!

I've played Lane Creek several times and always enjoyed it! It's layout is fair, but challenging and is always in excellent shape! The staff is friendly and it's overall a nice golf experience. This has become one of my favorite courses! Highly recommended!
Jewel in Athens Area
Great course in great condition. Would make the 40 mile drive in a hot minute. Pace of play was slow. Most players observed were local seniors.

Course in good to great condition from tee to green. One of our favorite courses, usually in good shape when we go & play. Got a good deal on a golf website. Recommend to play.
Enjoyable course in good condition
The course was in good condition. Greens held well and putts rolled smoothly. Holes are not long but are tight and challenging.
Great course!
I love this course. This was my first time here. Course was in great shape but only problem was greens had been aerated recently, so greens were bumpy and grainy. But I had 28 total putts for the round so I guess the aeration helped me!!!
