Closed Driving Range

Course generally played well and was well manicured. Driving range was closed, which made for a tough front 9. That would have been good to know prior to arriving.

Best overall winter conditions

Compared to all other courses played this winter the fairways have thicker "carpets" than other courses, so there were fewer shots that had to be played from bare winter lies, especially around the greens. The greens were medium fast, which made putting reasonable instead of impossible. The biggest problem was the inability to read the greens -- expected breaking putts went straight and expected straight putts broke. All in all, it was a pleasure playing this course. It's worth the trip to get there.

fivesomes with music blaring

Sunday round was not a great experience this time with 2 fivesomes playing ahead of us, the one in front playing loud music and yelling at each other. Slow play. No marshaling. Poor golf etiquette .

Fairways were bare in many places. Greens were good and fast.

RTJ JR strikes again

Great layout challenging and fair. One of my favorite courses designers and I wasn’t disappointed. My favorite in the area, good conditions for being winter golf.

Good Experience

My foursome plays this course often. It is a good layout and challenging enough for most players.. The course is playing short, fast and hard due to winter conditions and in need of new grass growth for the spring. It should be back to normal by mid March to early April.

Great shape for winter

The day was great. Being that is winter season. Couldn't recognize the course as much as I did few years back when I played in close to summer. Still pretty fun layout. Some tee box were a little uneven for my stance. Overall I really couldn't complain too much.

Fivesomes-Should not be allowed

Membership has its privileges...which apparently includes playing in fivesomes and holding up play. We got behind two fivesomes and at the four hour mark, we were just standing on #16 tee. At least two holes were open in front of the first group. I love this course. I hate its policy of allowing members to play in fivesomes.

Love this course

Staff (Kevin) is very nice. Haven't met anyone there that is unpleasant toward the patrons. It's winter so the grass is dormant but tees and greens in very good shape. The weather was cold to start but it warmed up as I went through the round. Highly recommend Woodmont.

Very nice golf course

This was my first time to play Woodmont. This is a semi private club designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. Layout is challenging but fair and the course condition is excellent. Tees, fairways and greens all is good shape. Greens are especially true. Staff is friendly, outside and in the pro shop. Five sets of tees so you can select your preferred level of difficulty. This will be my go-to course from now on in the North Atlanta area.
