This course is well maintained

This course is very straight forward. No extremely bad hazards. Staff is very friendly and courteous. We were a twosome and had a threesome in front but was not delayed or pushed by the twosome behind us. I am a senior beginner and found the course very fair with some difficult holes and some not so difficult. Look forward to playing here again.

Good for this time of year.

I have played this course many times and have always thought highly of it. With all the rain, ice, and snow the course was wet but not water logged. The greens were good and rolled true for this time of year. This course has consistantly been above average any time I have played it in comparison with other public courses in the area.

Just a beautiful coarse and fun to play!

Woodmont is one of my favorite places to play. The course has challenges but is not overly difficult and is extremely well maintained! The service and the food is also exceptional and I hope to play here many more times!

Great Track.....

Robert Trent Jones layout that is a true test of golf from any of the tee locations. Greens have a lot of undulations which makes hitting the correct approach shot a must.A bit out of the way, but well worth it!!

Gem of a RTJ layout with wicked tricky greens with pace!

The signature to this outstanding Robert Trent Jones layout is that just about EVRY hole slopes left to right, so while you do tend to hit driver most times on the par 4's and 5's, you have to PLACE it well or you have a tough 2nd. The greens are fantastic but very tricky. As it was my first time here, reading them was tough/ I must have missed 10 3 footers! The par 3's are gorgeous. Played the "Jones" tees - mix of blues and whites - which a lot of clubs ought emulate. Fantastic day out and great value at $49 with a GolfNow pre-pay!

Don't cheat ya self, treat ya self (to a round at Woodmont)

I play at Woodmont as well as many other courses around the area very often. Woodmont is by far the best. I rank it right up there with any of the fancy private clubs around Atlanta. The layout is fun, fair and straight-forward. It's challenging enough from the tips for a scratch golfer, and forgiving enough to allow hackers to have a fun time and not be looking for balls all day.

The fairways, tees, and bunkers are flawless. You can tell alot of deatiled attention is paid to these aspects of the course. And the greens are dy-no-mite! Me gusto! In the summer they probably aren't the fast greens in town (which is understandable since its bentgrass in hotLanta) but they are definitely the truest. This time of year they are slicker than a recently waxed F-250. I like how they do business over there so I had to show them some love.

Course was in excellent condition and the staff was very friendly.

Fairways were in such good condition, they were almost like greens! With the Golf Now discount, this is an excellent course for the money.

Good track

Teeied off at noon and they put everyone off 10. Not to sure why. And it was slow from there. They had 3 foursomes on the tee when we go there. Good course. Well worth the trip if you have one. One of my Fav's.

Greens were slow and not comparable to many other courses in area

I have played this course 15-20 times over the last 4 years and have always found the fairways and rough to be excellent. The many bunkers are always in fine shape as well but the greens, even though they were playable but hard, were not the best I have seen in the last couple of months. Bradshaw Farms which is just a few miles west had far better greens 2 weeks ago..Greens in just B grade condition for this fine facility is unfortunate.

Excellant layout

Great October day for a round for golf, I played with a friend of a co-worker who was in town. I selected Woodmont due value and location on golfnow. My guest was pleased with my selection and enjoyed the landscape. Range balls should have no charge if you are playing a round. Ten balls would be great.

Great course great conditions

Haven't played at Woodmont in several years, been playing others around metro Atlanta. The course was in great condition, just as it was the last time I played there. The greens, fairways and tee boxes were in as good condition as you will find at a daily fee public course. Look forward to returning there agin this fall.

Always enjoy this course even when I don't play so well.

Range being closed until almost 1:00 precluded any warmup for our group. It takes us Seniors a while to get loose. Other than that a very enjoyable round.

There appears to be little if any attempt to pair up twosomes. We let a couple of them play through which of course made our round longer.

Second bad experience.... I get the feeling members don't want us there

Course is a good layout, and value is good typically with Golfnow.com deals, but the negatives are:

- Greens are fairly shaggy and inconsistent.
- Played 9 holes as a single at a fairly good pace, and then I was informed by course workers as I came off the 9th green that they just put 3 groups off in front of me on the back 9, (this was some sort of ladies group outing) and that I should "skip past them and just come back later to finish those holes." It was completely impractical, since there was already a 3-some and a 2-some that had just had to also "skip past them", so it was completely congested on holes 10 through 13 now. Plus, with groups teeing off on 1 as well, I would have had to "cut in" on those groups to "finish my round" on holes 10, 11 and 12 later. The ladies did not want to let me play through, and told me that I should "skip past like the other groups did." I returned to the clubhouse and the staff was friendly about it, and I was given a refund, but I had a good round going, and never got to finish it.
- On a previous round here a few months back, I had taken my cart to the driving range, left my phone, towel, extra balls and my drink in the cart and took my bag to the hitting area. Two members helped themselves to my cart when they finished on the range and teed off. I had to get another cart and follow the ranger out to the course to retrieve my stuff from my original cart! The members had no care in the world that someone else's stuff was in their cart!

I am not going back to this course. I know when I am not wanted. My message to the membership there: If you don't want the public to play there, raise YOUR fees and make it completely private, but don't treat us like we don't belong there when YOU want to get the income from these public fees.

I have had better experiences in the past, but not this time

Must admit it could be the last time out to the course. arrived 45 minutes before tee time to hit balls and warm up got tokens from proshop only to find the range ball machine not operating properly. Informed pro shop and waited a good bit to have machine address all the while plenty of balls laying on the "members range" which we were not to use. but we did anyway. Found course staff to be pretty "gruff" and :"salty". Took 15 minutes to get 4 brats at the turn while employees ordered lunch ahead of us, then asked to pick up the pace on 10th. Course maintenance crew not mindful of golfers playing the hole while they mowed or blew leaves...one crew member blew one of our balls off of the 17th fairway into the lake...Greens punched recently and needed to be rolled but understand the course has to borrow a roller from another course which must not have been available...

Entertaining

Fun course. Went on a special as the greens had been punched just 2 days prior. Even though the greens were a bit rough and sanded the course overall was excellent. Challenging enough without being abusive. Overall a very fun course, and one I would spend a premium to play again when the greens are back to normal. On another note, I couldn't help but notice how clean this course was. No trash, no cigarette butts and you were hard pressed to find even so much as a broken tee on the tee boxes. The members do a better than average job cleaning up after themselves, repairing pitch marks and sanding divots. Highly recommended.
