Nice course. Bunkers not so nice
The actual course was In great condition. Some of the bunkers were in bad shape.but appear to be under repair. Also some of the tee boxes were mostly dirt.
WORTH THE DRIVE! (I live 45 minutes away)
I finally made the drive out this way i usually never drive west of atlanta to play. Hoping this course stays on GolfNow for a while so I can return. The greens were Aerated the beginning of the month and were nice but still a tad slow, the back 9 were a lot better.
Some of the bunkers were missing sand. The pace of play was fantastic and the staff were all incredibly friendly. All of the other reviews about this course are for sure legit.
This course is going to be really good one day but I would not call it perfect yet.
Best course south of Atlanta
Chapel Hill Golf Course is one of the best golf course south of Atlanta. The layout is great. The greens are in excellent condition. The fairways are in great shape and the views are wonderful. There are some challenging holes and some scoring holes. Don’t let the course distance fool you. You will use every club in your bag. If you ever have a chance to play this course, you will enjoy a great round of golf. Once, you finish your round, enjoy the great food and friendly hospitality in the clubhouse overlooking the lake at the 9th and 18th hole.
Gorgeous course, wonderful staff
We had a wonderful round. Played in just under 4 hours. Very well manicured tee boxes, fairways, and greens. Layout really makes you think in multiple spots. You will use your whole bag!!
Must play if you get the chance
Lovely course, nice range, good value
This is normally a private club and they are using the public tee times to drive membership. After seeing the facilities and playing the course, I will be inquiring.
First, the practice range was grass and very well kept. Plenty of good grass to hit off. It also had a practice chipping green with a bunker you could hit either onto the green or practice fairway bunker shots out onto the range, which is very handy.
The staff was very friendly and all the facilities I saw seemed nice and well-maintained.
The course itself was very nice. Challenging but not overly difficult. Lovely landscapes and well-maintained. Greens were very soft (from rain) but in excellent condition. The starter also mentioned that they are going to be repaving the cart paths soon.
The only issue I saw was drainage. I believe it had rained heavily the day before and there were a few holes which had rather large areas of standing water. It didn't really effect play much, though I did end up in one small lake on a fairway.
Great course
We played an afternoon twosome in about 3 hours. Course was in good condition and the greens rolled nice and even. The staff was great and did everything to make us feel welcome. Will definitely return!
Unique
Solid layout. There had been heavy rain recently so the grass was extremely long due to them being unable to cut it. Pace of play was great and greens were in solid shape although very slow. I will for sure play here again, hopefully the grass could be cut to normal length.
Fun Course in Great Condition
This was my first time playing Chapel Hills. I really liked the course an layout. There were a few holes that were a challenge for never playing the course before because there were no hole diagrams, or anything at the tee markers to give you an indication of the direction of the holes, the hidden hazards, etc. Most of the holes with blind tee shots and hidden hazards (at least visible from the tee boxes) were on the back nine.
The course was in great condition. There were a few bunkers that had very little sand in them (I hit out and my club bounced off the hard clay because there was hardly any sand in a couple bunkers). The tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in great condition.
I would recommend the course to anyone. I would definitely recommend using a GPS app that shows a picture of hole as well as gives suggestions as to where to play to (distance and direction).
This course has great features
I'm a member of this club and I would recommend it anyone looking for club membership.
