West Pines Golf Club

First time playing at this golf course. It is winter time so the fairways are dormant but found to be in good condition. The greens were being well maintained. The course is hilly with considerable amount of walking. There are some challenging holes especially it being the first time there. I would not hesitate to go play again. Well everything greens up the course should be awesome.

It is clear that West Pines has been taken every measure to keep their course rolling this winter. If you are looking for a challenging layout with smooth Bermuda greens, West Pines is the course. I’m almost reluctant to write this review because I don’t want anyone to know about it but it’s too good not to share. Worth the drive from Atlanta any day.

Field marshals were rude and inconsiderate not everyone is a pro golfer and by hole 14 we a party of 3 were only 11 minutes behind pace due to learning but they still rushed us and the last 5 holes sucked!! due to no longer being able to concentrate and rush hitting

One of the course employees was playing a round in the group behind me and my buddies. My buddies aren’t too great, so on the second green we offered to let them play through which they accepted and told us to tee off on the next hole so we did. We hung around on the next hole for a solid 10 minutes waiting for them, but they weren’t anywhere to be found. Turns out he went to the shop area to screw around while we are waiting for him to play through us. We said screw if and kept playing. My group and I were then on the fourth fairway about 15-20 minutes later when they finally are on the tee box behind us and this guy decides to tee the ball up and hit into my group of four. Both him and his playing partner tee off into us. He missed the fairway about ten feet right of us and his partner came about two feet from hitting me in the skull. When he drives down to us he acts like he did nothing wrong and we are livid for his recklessness. He tells us if we don’t stop cursing he’s going to “get off this cart and beat our heads in” which he did not do. They eventually played on but not before he picked up my brothers ball and threw it in the woods. Great guys work here.

This was the worst weather to play golf in but we played anyway. As wet as it was these greens were fast and in great shape. This course has gotten better and better since I’ve first played it years ago. Other than the wet sappy whether the course was in great condition.

Always in great shape with fast greens. Great value and fun to play.

Greens are the fastest I’ve played of ANY course of late BY FAR!!! Apart from alot of people that still don’t fix their pitch marks on the greens they’re also in pretty good shape. Fairways are ok which I suppose is to be expected this time of year. Overall a great value for the money and would highly recommend!

The course rating & recommendation response has more to do with the course design (too many blind shots) pace of play (a lot regulars who have no sense of pace of play) and the golf carts have a satellite software system giving you yardages etc. Unfortunately this system shuts the cart down if you get in a "restricted area" which includes the area between parallel holes, the edges of the hole you are playing & believe it or not when the cart was on the cart path around several greens. It' a pain to get the cart operating again not to mention it slows you down because you have to walk to your ball where on any other course I've played you drive right to your ball. The condition of the course was good given this time of the year(late Fall) & the lady at the front desk & the cart girl were very friendly.
