Alot of laying up.
The course is not much on risk reward. The par 5s are created by water that is 200 to lay up or 300 carry. The par 4s are made longer by hitting straight into hill faces. The greens are nice and pretty quick. They have cart computers that slow down at bridges and make you go in reverse if you wonder off to far.
Best greens for the money
We teed off at 8:20 and never saw the group in front of us, our foursome finished in 4 hours 10 mins which is appreciated. The course uses some natural boundaries like creeks to stretch out par 5s but you will not find better greens for the money in metro Atlanta.
Enjoyable Round
Starter was very friendly, course was in GOOD condition, Greens were fast, had a REAT time !
Overview of West Pines
This was the first time that I had the opportunity to play the course. It was in great shape!!! Tees, fairways, bunkers, and greens. Friendly staff. They even just fertilized the fairways so it will be in super shape. Congrats to the whole team there at West Pines!!!!!
Very nice course
Played West Pines today and really enjoyed the course. It is well maintained and challenging but there is enough relief for Mis hits to recover. Greens are large and fast but fair. Bunkers are well maintained but sand is compacted due to the recent rains. I would rate this one of the best values for a very well maintained course, enjoy!!
Nice round
It was hot. Played with friendly guys. Could not quite figure out greens and speed Bermuda tight. Everything was easy in clubhouse, cart, start and getting around.

Great course west of Atlanta
Greens are Bermuda.
Sand bunkers are top notch.
Bluetooth golf carts are nice.
What’s not so nice:
Golf carts give you know warning of approaching a boundary, once crossed they come to a complete stop. Had to push it twice and there was no rhyme or reason to where we drove. Overbooked, had a 9:20 tee time, teed off at 9:45, waited 3-10 minutes per hole to hit.
Best course for the money
They've put a lot of money in this course recently. I played it before when the grounds were hard, bunkers sucked, but the greens were always in great shape. Now the whole course is in championship condition. Soft Fairways, inviting bunkers and fantastic greens.. A few spots here and there that still need attention, but it don't take away from the hard work they've put into this course the past couple of years to make it worthy of holding a big tournament. Might need to figure out how to increase parking spaces because its becoming difficult to park with the increased business due to the improved conditions. Staff has always been friendly in the 16 plus years I've played there. Keep up the great job guys.
Course was in good condition
This course was in very good condition and was a good challenge for a weekend golfer. The bunkers have been reworked and are more challenging plus fluffy sand which is nice. I would definitely play again soon.
Absolutely PHENOMENAL!
The only downside is the commute. It’s about 30 minutes from where I’m at, and that’s 100% worth it! But thats about as far as I’ll go for golf lol. Between the course quality, cart quality, and price, this course stands head and shoulders above every other course I try as the budget golfer that I am lol. 100% recommend to golfers of any caliber!

If you put a cart in reverse when its locked it will work. You don't ever need to push.
