About
Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club is situated in the heart of South Hall County. The course sprawls across 150 acres of rolling countryside with natural wetlands comprising 19 of those acres. The golf course has a traditional Scottish links design that also incorporates a few mountain holes. It's a layout that will always keep you guessing. It may not be the most formidable golf course in the area, but it shouldn't be underestimated either. The course strikes a good balance between being forgiving enough for high handicappers and challenging enough for more advanced players. The par 3s are tough and the diverse par 4s come in all shapes and sizes. Royal Lakes Golf & C.C. is a shot maker's layout that requires accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The most memorable hole on the golf course is the par-5 11th, which features an intimidating island green.

I forgot how nice the layout is. Greens were pretty bad, however, they had been aerated and sanded recently. I will be anxious to see how much they improve. Pace of play was pretty slow too

A Great Hidden Gem!
First time I played this course. Challenging but good for any level as they have a wide variety of tee boxes! Cannot wait to play again!

Course was beautiful , staffs were very friendly although I had tough time reaching the pro shop because their phone system was down for a while I would play there again .

Good course for the money
Only major complaint is there should be a ranger on the course pushing folks along who are playing slow. Some of the greens and sand traps need attention but we still enjoyed our round.

Course Needs a Real Starter and Ranger.
They let foursomes out ahead of singles and doubles. Pair people up and keep the groups moving. FIVE hour rounds are Really SAD

Good course
The fairways where in great shape but the bunkers and greens where not so great. Bunkers had weeds and hard as a rock the greens where damaged need some attention. No drinking water on course.
I’ve been playing this course for awhile and seems the attention to detail has fallen. I will continue to play a this course but something must be done .

I expect the little things to be there at the course price.
I played Royal Lakes on a Friday and did not see the cart person on the back nine at all. All but one cooler stand had a cooler of water in it and the greens were pretty burnt. I can understand the greens as the course can’t control the weather, but not having coolers and a cart person made me give a bad review. You should be able to do the little stuff and make the course worth the fee charged but this course did not make the par for that.

Good course with room for improvements on greens
All staff were great. They were polite and professional.
They even put ice and complimentary water bottles on each cart. As far as course condition goes, greens were in bad shape and it seems nobody was repairing ball marks. Greens in general were very slow and we had to putt it really hard. Also, I understand they had some heavy rain over previous night but bunkers were basically muds, not sands, with water puddles so most of them were unplayable. I may not play there again unless I pay less than 30 bucks.

No power or carts
The clubhouse was struck by lightning and there were no carts so we were unable to play. The club pro said to request a refund on here and it would be refunded back to my card. Thanks!
