Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club

There were some water damages (many holes had muddy fairway) on the corses. Other than that, everything was great. It was good value for the money.

While the greens were in good shape, they were very slow. Last two rounds here the greens have been fuzzy and slow. Probably won't come back until the greens speed up.

Staff were nice enough, course was in good shape, bent grass greens were relatively smooth but not overly fast.Not an extremely difficult course but has 4-5 holes with water that will get your attention. Overall an very enjoyable round.

What a joy it was to once again get to play this course!

Every hole is different and brings out your best, or worst. Very challenging and beautifully maintained. Greens are the best I’ve seen this year.

Beautiful design, no two holes alike! View from each tee box is exceptional. Course in top notch shape. I used every club in the bag!

I played Royal Lakes today with a couple of friends. Even though we had rain just a day ago the course was in very good shape. There were some soggy spots around some of the greens and some wash out and standing water in a couple of the traps, but overall everything was in good shape. I wish more people would repair their ball marks but that seems to be a problem everywhere.

Although my group was playing slow due to a new golfer in our group, other golfers playing up to us were very considerate and we let them play through with as little delay as possible

I play this course several times a year...along with many others in the area. I have never seen this course (greens specifically) in such bad conditions.

I mean it was awful. Practice area was rough, but I can handle that. Tee boxes are cut way too high in my opinion. The greens were slow... extremely slow. They were very wet and spongy. Fairways looked good though.

Cart men are always introverted and not very friendly, but Anybody who plays there knows that. Something serious is going on with those greens though. Wouldn’t pay $45 to play there...maybe $20. Kind of feel like they robbed me charging that much knowing the issues. Again just my opinion.

I paid for 18 holes playing as a single at 430. I was greeted by cart attendants at cart walking to 1st tee. He asked if I was playing 9 or 18? Being I paid for 18 that's what I'm expecting to play. There wasnt anyone or there so to believe a single would take over 4 hours he insisted I be back with cart by 8. As I was bringing the cart back after loading up my clubs the gentleman is standing there with his chest bowed up looking at his watch with his wrist shoulder lever out in front of him arm extended out. This was at 20 min before 8 and I had been done for 15 min while loading up. And 2 or 3 more group were still on the course. I just thought it was exceptionally rude and uncalled for with the cart guys attitude from pulling in until leaving. Pro shop guy had great attitude and that was about the only one that looked like he cared and appreciated the business.

This is a beautiful rolling course with many picturesque vistas… It has quite a few very challenging holes.

This course is shorter than most 18 hole courses but has several holes that will fool you distance wise. The course is in good shape although the greens are thick but slow.

Overall course in good to great shape. Greens were all good, but recent heat wave may cause issues, having to keep watered. Water in coolers need to be colder, especially on hotter days. Pace of play on front side no problem but back side slow & not sure how foursome got in front of us at the turn. At end of round cart person “directed” us to pull carts in to have clubs cleaned rather than let us take to car as we preferred. His words & tone didn’t seem to give us a choice on having our clubs cleaned or not.

Recommend & will play again, probably not at regular price. Got a good deal w/ Ideal Golfer.

I last played Royal Lakes about 15 years ago. The weather was a perfect 80 degrees with light wind. The course plays a bit narrow at times but you are rewarded by playing clean shots. Out of bounds can definitely leave you frustrated as the ball will inevitably become buried in the dry leaves or poison Ivy and poison oak that seem to line the fairway on every hole that is not bordered by water. The course will definitely reward a strong and straight hitter on the water shots while also punishing those who come up short. I love the lay out and the pace. the greens were a bit soft and spongey and played very slow. Overall though a lot of fun.

I typically love the course as I love all the elevation changes and the conditions of the course. This last round however, I have found few flaws.

1. There is no cooler on the carts (did not notice before but could of used it as it was hot)

2. The pace of play was slower than usual.

The green was very slow which I can understand since they need to save the green.
